PROCRASTINATION
Snailrind Started conversation May 27, 2005
I've started writing a Mills & Boon. Yeah, yeah, I know. But they pay well.
Anyway, I think the only things that've taken me longer to get around to writing are my Guide entries. I've been on chapter 2 for about a month now. It's not even that I don't know what to write: I've got it all planned out, chapter by chapter--but somehow, I find myself faffing around with stuff like this instead:
http://www.planearium2.de/flash/sp-studio-e.html
http://www.mcsweeneys.net/
Or reading my favourite blogs:
http://bogol.blogspot.com/
http://www.seahorse-design.com/neutrino/index.php
http://thelawwestofealingbroadway.blogspot.com/
Or messing about on h2g2, of course. And if I don't have access to the computer, I faff around doing nothing, very slowly. I'm hoping that writing this journal entry will shame me into picking up a pen and actually writing some romance.

*groans*
*slaps forehead in dismay at SEF's awful joke*
*wishes she'd come up with something more dire first*
I tried writing porn once, but the research got in the way.

Rather long was it? Still you ought to have been able to come up with some position in which you could still write.

KAZ: DO NOT CLICK ON THE ABOVE LINK! (Probably too late, but I tried.)
Those spoof covers are hilarious, Nyxkind. (Except for a couple--like Kaz, I feel uncomfortable about paedophilia jokes.)
"Rather long was it?"
Yeah, several weeks too long. I missed the deadline.

That's okay. The number of guys in dire need of a shirt really tickled me. I guess you must've helped me, because I've actually finished the interminable Chapter Two. I'm looking forward to Chapter Three, 'cos that's where the wanton maid gets to take breakfast up to the young lord's bedroom. He's in need of a shirt too, but the maid won't be too disappointed about that. She *will* be disappointed when she meets her love rival, though!

The butler will certainly have a part to play, but that comes later, when the lord gets bitten by a snake and the wanton maid has to take his shirt off to make a tourniquet. She must enlist the butler's help, and swear him to secrecy. But the butler is a grumpy old soak. Ah, the trials that romantic protagonists must undergo!

Blackberry Cat , if one wishes to remain an individual in the midst of the teeming multitudes, one must make oneself grotesque Posted May 30, 2005
perhaps you should serialise it in your journal
our amusement would provide you with the incentive to write it
I can't wait to here what happens next

I shall certainly keep you posted, B'cat. As it happens, I've been procrastinating again: I've sent my spies out to photograph several of you people (including the mysterious SEF), and I've put them on my Fotki site. Frustratingly, the camera died when I was part-way through, so I haven't photographed everyone I'd have liked to. And the one of MrFlay didn't come out very well.
Click on a photo to see what I've said about you.

Hmm... I seem to be sharing a glove puppet with Mr.Flay. I also seem to be surrounded by entirely too much weather.
I'll give Mr.Flay back the glove puppet if I can have his cave(?) instead.

Don't ask *me* what you were doing on that cloud. I just took the picture.

I was gonna do Sea Change, Lampost and Avernus next. I had some good ideas for them. I'm miffed that the website for creating them has disappeared.
