Hi Blackberry Cat,
Thanks for the post in response to my one about the Ottoman Empire and tolerance.
I take what you are saying, and I have also had similar things pointed out by night-eyes.
Seems I forgot my golden rule of making absolutely sure of my information before posting.
But thanks for putting me straight, and for doing it in a polite a clear manner (something that isn't seen as often on here as it should be!).

Well I didn't see my post as putting you straight
The Ottoman Empire was remarkably tolerant for the period so basically you were correct
Of course if you were a Shiite Muslim or a pagan it was very intolerant but compared to Europe it was tolerant
I hope I don't ever sound like I'm lecturing
I'm interested in history and sometimes clutter up threads with historical trivia that is probably uninteresting to everyone but me
