one of my friends used to be a social worker but he had to give it up cos it was too depressing, especially when he was working with children at risk

My in-laws are both probation officers and carry guns.

my friend didn't mind so much when he was dealing with scum, dealing with kids and thinking in 10 years time he'll probably be on drugs etc was really depressing, because there was only so much he could do and it never felt like enough to him
