Gawd, its a bank holiday weekend, so I gues s your going to get hundreds an hundreds of drunken idiots calling in tonight, if your at work hope the shift passes quickly and not too many drunken idiots act as such whilst on teh phone

After 2.5yrs doing this job and kinda used to the drunken idiots, the pervs and the just plain thick but being a bank holiday w/e I guess it'll be a bit worse than usual and, surprise surprise, we're short staffed with 2 people off sick and one on leave!!! Some things never change around here

Just a thought and tell me to off if I'm being too nosey, but if you have problems with your sight, how do you manage reading the messages on the screen? Does your computer talk to you?

Yeh, I guess you get used to it, but it don't make it any better Yeh, I've a 'screen reader' program, that runs on the PC, and it speaks out what I'm typing, and whats on the screen, and I can navigate about and use the PC and programms on it, pretty much as quickly as a sighted person; the speech is running so fast that most people can't understand a word its saying, but I'm just so used to the synthetic speech now

I guessed you must have something like that ......but had to ask cos I was curious!!!

We've had some excitement here tonight .......the fire alarms went off and we all had to leave the building and wait for the fire brigade to come and investigate! So stood outside for 20 mins, having a ciggie and watching those hunky firemen do their business .......sometimes this job does have it's perks!!! Turns out the night club next door (but in the same building) was using a smoke machine and it set all the alarms off

What you been up to today?

hunky fireman Today not done much so far.... yesterday didn't do too much, cept defrosting freezer doing a bit of cleaning in the kitchen and in the evening sat down and had some gin and tonic didn't have that much though as I didn't have much indian tonic water done my online grocery shop, so that will be dilivered tomorrow and I can do the mountain of clothes laundry that needs doing not sure what I'll do this afternoon, have a bit of work to do writing a report type thinggy for my boss which I'll try to get out of the way so I can send it off tomorrow not much else planned I think you working agian tonight?

nope......wasn't working last night.......was my one night off outa 7 shifts this week

By the way, if your too hot, drinking alcohol aint gonna help cos it dehydrates you .......better off taking a cool shower and sucking ice cubes ........now that's another one for the 'penis' thread ......ice cubes that is!!!

You coulnd have told me that before i finsihed that first bottle of gin and started the second! well... I've got ice in teh gin and tonic actually think I'll have to log off soon, the hotest bit of the room is in front of the PC well.... I gues sits concivable that a PC and assorted equipment running all day might kick out a lot of heat ice cubes ,smooch> hopefully catch you online tomorrow, though I'm probably out tomorrow evenign hope works going well without too many drunks

We got a fantastic thunderstorm last night; we'd just left the first pub, the one nearer me, and were walking up to the pub I prefer, which is a bit further from mine (hence the need to stop off half way at this first pub) and the thunder started... and the Lightening.... counted between the flash and the sound.... 9 seconds.... 7 seconds.... 6 seconds.... 5 seconds.... 3 seconds.... We got into the pub, just as the first bit of rain started and it gradually cooled down not before time not sure if I'll be about online tonight, I've some work stuff I should get on with ,
