Hallo u.
Just up and at my desk, browsing my threads as usual as the kettle boils and it was looking at your space.
Have we corresponed before or am I getting confused with another call centre person?
Good start eh?

I don't think we've chatted before but I could be wrong of course
Nothing very interesting on my thread except that I'm a bored night worker Have never got round to mastering how to do the clever bits and making my PS look pretty

Dai the Death, "My other sink's a Porsche" Posted May 17, 2005
Might be just I've noticed the name on some of the threads, oh and knowing me I've been in your PS before, just can't help me self.
So what time do you start, I can work out the end time as you mention 12 hour shifts.
At least the net patrol at your work let you have access to the outside world and hootoo.

I kind of abandoned you the other morning but I left early to take my son to school....ex in-laws usually do it but they're away on hols!
I work 8pm til 8am......
We can access hootoo and the rest of the BBC site but don't have internet access as such Think we can get onto channel4 and ITV as well but usually just stick with hootoo as I have a few friends in here

Ahhh , fear not Helen, kids come first in my book so no wories there, although I did spend two days checking my personal hygene
I looked back on my messages and found one from a meber called Smiler who worked in a call centre in Cardiff at nights, they commented on my member name at that time.
So I take you have had a couple of nights off?
How about an early bird?
tsarina Posted May 20, 2005
You're ok.....I didn't smell anything unpleasant
Smiler is still here but goes by another name now.....she had problems with another member who was getting a bit too personal and involved (all in his mind of course)
I've been off for 3 nights but now have the prospect of working all w/e to look forward too .....road closures to contend with as well tomorrow due to the Man Utd v Arsenal cup final Am hoping that all will be open and reasonably clear by the time I need to get into work!
What have you got planned for the w/e? anything exciting?
How about an early bird?
Dai the Death, "My other sink's a Porsche" Posted May 20, 2005
Well I have my youngest over all day Saturdays so its always exciting, look forward to it. He's 10 next month so we tend to do simming or the cinema for part of the day and head out about the place if its good weather.
I live on the coast on Stangford Lough and there is a great adventure playground in a Nationla Trust park just down the road.
Ive been learning to scuba dive for the last 5 weeks on sundays so have had to be fairly sensible on Saturday nights because of that, however I passd the course this week so tomorrow night god help my local
Did the dive course s Im off for a diving holiday to the Red Sea next weekend, while Im certified ( watch the comments you ) its only with diving itself that you really learn the skills.
what about you, although Id say with your hours it must mean sleeping during the day?

I managed to laocate my son who's 14 on my last break at 10.30pm......I rang home and there was no reply so wondered where he was He'd been out playing tennis with his friends from 5pm and was supposed to walk home after! Found him at the local pizz place where his sister works, so she was going to make him stay there until she finished work and then her and her b/f were going to take him home ....it's hard when you worki nights....you have to trust them to behave and they don't always Normally his grandparents would keep an eye on him but they're away of course.
where is Stangford Lough? I'm generally good with geography etc but have never heard of it
I've been snorkelling on the coral reefs in Mauritius but don't think I'd be able to scuba dive.....have trouble clearing my ears Did try diving down to the reef when I snorkelled but didn't get very far Hope you enjoy you Red Sea w/e it sounds fabulous!
I'll be eating, sleeping and working all w/e I'm afraid.....penalty of working 12 hour shifts. I'm off next w/e tho for 3 nights so not so bad

Good morning Helen.
's up, suns up and I'm up
It's absolutely beautiful this morning, looks like beng a great day weather wise, although the very fact I'm thinking that could put the scud on the whole thing
Can well imagine the concern over your son, at least he was in a safe environment, at that age they just don't think things through at times and poor old mum is left wondering whats going on. I have 2 older children (girl 21, boy 19) and can remember similar situations.
Now let me see where is Strangford Lough. There are times when the ability to add a picture on here would be a real benefit, describing locations on here is a bit like the old question I rembemer from school "Describe a spiral staircase with out using your hands"
If you can picture a map of Northern Ireland in your head, Strangfrod Lough is on the right hand side, it is South of Belfast in County Down and open to the sea at the bottom end (Yes I know all the tecnical terms . The village I live in is about 18 miles south of Belfast.
Clearing your ears (called equalisation you know lol) is pretty important when diving, amazed me how the poressure builds up, but its something you eventually start doing automatically. I'd say you would find less of a problem with scdivingas you are not holding your breath at any time.
I cant wait to get away, its actually for a week, but I go next weekend woo hoo.
One of the group Im going with rang the place we are staying in on Thursday, it's in theSinai desert and it was 42 degrees. Never been to Egypt before but I love the sun so excitement is building.
What about you on the holiday fron? Any plans so far?

.....offers abject apologies for not having replied sooner .......read your last post then it got busy so didn't have time to reply, then forgot I hadn't replied .....so am doing so now
Northern Ireland around the Belfast area would've been sufficient for the location......just wasn't sure what area of the UK it was in!
As I'm not likely to be going on holiday anywhere in the near future then I don't think I'll be learning to scuba dive ......being a divorced, single mother of 2 teenage kids is a big drain on the finances and just about manage to pay the bills and keep the kids fed
My 18yr old daughter went to Sharm-el-Sheik in egypt last yr with her b/f for a week......she liked it but said it was far too hot (and she's a sunworshipper) they found it really uncomfortable during the day and spent a good deal of time in the cool of the hotel! Think they're thinking of going to one of the Greek Isles this yr.

Apologies accepted, now get up off your knees and have a nice hot and possible a piece of if I can find any
Im just heading for bed but saw your reply, couldnt leave without adding to the thread as you have hours to go yet.
Been looking at the temps at the place we are going to, its about an Hour from where your daughter was and its currently showing as 43 degrees which should make things interesting. I like the sun myself but thats seriously hot.
Anyway Im off on Thursday so am starting to look forward to it. Did the wind down at work thing and had my usual holiday hair cut (Took it all off not that there was much) so Im in happy mode I guess.
Catch you in the morning maybe, hope the night passes quickly.

You're up and about early again.......fancy a and (toast might be better but there's no icon for that )
My daughter said that the heat made them both ill......so I hope you're going to be ok!
One of the girls in work is off to Sharm-el-Sheik with her husband next week......she's looking forward to it but not so sure about the heat out there either!
Is it tomorrow you fly out? How long are you going for? You've probably already told me but got a memory like a sieve lately
How about an early bird?
Dai the Death, "My other sink's a Porsche" Posted May 26, 2005
Morning u.
and are most acceptable, but seeing as its breakfast I'll pop the in the toaster
Im up early, well slightly early than usual just tieing up some loose ends as I fly off this afternoon and as usual have some last minute things to sort out, but I guess that's all part of the excitement.
Due back here on Sunday the 5th so full details of the insanity will be available after that date. Make a note in your diary, hopefully could be a long post
Have to admit the heat is an unknown factor, never been to somewhere just as hot but as it's right on the beach Im hoping the water will be a useful place to cool off.
Now as for memory like a sieve, join the club, I am always forgetting things and this trip needing so much stuff could prove interesting, wont be the first time Ive arrived to find I've left something important on the kitchen table.
Bye for now, u take care and if by any chance I can find a pc I'll call in and say hi.
Roger

Morning T
Just catching up on some sleep and it aint working, I'm up for a break from the sleep thing and thought I'd catch you as I broke
Back to reality and the cool Land of Ire, and when I say cool I ain't using it in a laid back 60's way either.
Loved Dahab, already planning another trip in August, the heat was something else but bearable, just means drinking loads of bottled water and spending more time than usual running to the loo
So how's things wid you?
Roger

Dai the Death, "My other sink's a Porsche" Posted Jun 6, 2005
I'm up early but going back for a nother attempt at sorting sleep out, Im not jet lagged just recovering from not sleeping much since Friday we had a late flight back to Gatwick which got in about 3 and then a 2 hour wait before we could check in for the flight back to Belfast.
Have to admit I loved the holiday and really can see what the whole diving thing is about, some of it had me stunned in silence, other bits screaming lkike a loon, can't wait to go back.
Was OK with the heat I have to say, had a slight hic up on the Weds when I got a jittery tummy (wont go into the details but a jittery tummy in a wet suit is a definite no no) but thanks to one of the local doc's was sorted quickly.
As for all the gory details well give me time to trawl my data banks and I shall give a full account (thankfully for you without pictures as I can't put them on here, but I got loads )but I had an interesting meeting with a camel on a safari to go diving in a hard to get to part of the coast, called him Father Jack and still have the imprints on me arse
Now to the important matter, wanna see me tan it's a dooooozie
