I have no idea how this works!!!
Mark-Cardiff Posted Nov 7, 2004
Ok, you'll have to roll your eyes and tut now, because - despite having been brought up in Cardiff - I have no idea where St Fagans is. I live in Pentwyn at the moment (it's my mum's house; I'm temporarily here while searching for a house to buy), so is St Fagans far from here? I also don't have a car, but I can get a cab no problem.
I'd ideally prefer to meet up on Tuesday daytime, as I like getting out and about in the day instead of being cooped up by my computer. The only trouble with that is, I have to be able to check my emails every hour or so during working hours, which is a pain... So perhaps it has to be Monday night. Is the Plymouth Arms your local? And if so, how comfortable are you with being seen drinking with a tall, dark, handsome guy in his late 20s?

no it's not my local........my local is a bit of a dive and haven't been in there for years except to take kids for a cheap meal
St Fagans is kinda out Radyr/fairwater way and if you live in Pentwyn that's a long way to go! Perhaps it would be better to find somewhere more your way? There's a place over at St Mellons just down the road from the Garden Centre that's ok. Have been there once before! Monday evening, thinking about it, might be a bit awkward sorry! My ex in-laws are away on holiday and my daughter is working, which would leave my son home alone. I know he's 14 but as I've been working all w/e he's been on his own a fair bit already! I'll see how things go and let you know ok? I'll see if he minds me going out!!!
Why would I be uncomfortable being seen drinking with you? More likely that you'd be embarrassed being seen out with me I'm not exactly Kate Moss and am almost twice your age!!!

To be honest, I don't mind taking the trip to St Fagans if it's a nice place... Isn't St Mellons a bit of a horrible area? Anyway, if tomorrow night's no good we can always go out later in the week. As I say, I'd much prefer daytime anyway, and if i had a laptop with an internet connection I'd be able to do it.
I know it's not exactly the "done thing" to meet up for drinks with someone twice/half your age, but I guess I just prefer the company of older women... I feel more myself, and feel able to talk more openly. But it does strike people as weird... my mum, for example, would probably have a tantrum if she knew!

OK if you'd rather go to St Fagans that fine with me, it is a nice place.
If I can't do Monday night then I won't be free again til Friday evening or sometime over the w/e whenever you're free! It's my w/e off this w/e
I know it's not the 'done' thing and my kids would probably throw a fit if they knew too, but we're only meeting for a drink and a chat so there's no harm in that, is there?

Let's see how it goes.. I'm busy next Saturday but Friday night might work. Oh life is so needlessly complicated sometimes!
Yeah, I can just imagine how your kids would react - "I'm off to meet a 26yr old guy I met on the internet, kids!" Oh well, if I think of it as a "secret rendezvous" it does make my life seem more interesting!
I've just opened a bottle of wine. Jealous?

Only if it's a nice bottle of red wine..........I don't drink white cos it makes me ill
To be honest, I don't care what people think.........if they have a problem then they have to deal with it......as far as I'm concerned I'm meeting a friend for a drink and it's as simple as that
I'll let you know about Monday but if it's a 'no go' then am sure Friday would be ok
Boy you must lead a boring life if the thought of a 'secret rendevous' with me seems exciting

Glad to know you don't drink white wine either: i hate the stuff. Only the darkest spiciest reds for me. I think we're going to make good drinking buddies!

Mmmmmmmmmmm a man after me own heart A nice full bodied, spicy red suits me just fine! A nice Merlot, pinotage or cabernet sauvignon perhaps?
Am going on lunch break at 3 so won't be around for 30 mins or so but will be checking mail and may log into fp briefly!

I think it`s finally time for me to hit the sack. Have an exciting evening (who the hell phones directory enquiries at this time, anyway?), and chat soon... xx
