I'd say it wasn't. 
I chop and change keyboards for reasons like that. My (year old dell) is currently using a 15-year-old compaq keyboard. This is the result of one too many lunches eaten over the dell keyboard...

My keyboard at home is about a year old, I'm sure that there is about half a tuna sandwich in it due to an excesive sneezing fit one lunchtime. It still works fine though.

Speaking of broken machinery, my mouse stopped working and my monitor broke, in the space of 48 hours,

I think the machines are ganging up on us.
Last Thursday as I got home from work I turned the lights in the hall on only to have one of the bulbs go. And not having any spares I muttered quietly. 
Last Friday as I got home from work I turned the lights in the hall on only to have another one of the bulbs go. And still not having any spares I muttered loudly. 
Then when I walked through to the kitchen and turned those light on too, one of them blew. 
Needless to say what I said then is unrepeatable, but quite a few people must have heard it.
