Age its a funny thing

I've just been speaking to one of the younger members of staff here, he's busy booking a weekend away in Amsterdam to celebrate his 21st!!!! I on the other hand am planning a big bash for my 40th, I find this a little depressing. When I think back I'm much happier now and certainly more settled but it really makes you think "oh my God, what have I done with my life?" I know 40 isn't old, in fact I'm probably fitter and healthier now than at any other time. I can afford to enjoy life, holidays, drive a reasonable car etc but where do I go from here? Is it just the long road to retirement and old age?

Not Bloody Likely!!!!!!! I'm going out with a bang and I don't care what my daughter thinks I'm gonna grow disgracefully!!!!!!!! In the past year I've lost 3 stone, gone blonder and had my belly-button pierced. I haven't finished yet either the next item on the agenda (I haven't had time to fit everything in this year) is I'm going to learn how to drive a motorbike!!!!! I've always wanted to do it, when I was younger my parents said no too dangerous, then it was down to time and money well next year I'm going for it!!!!

And I don't intend to stop there either.

Something for The Weekend?

Since I'm off to sample the jolly delights of picturesque Devon for the weekend I'll sign off until Tuesday. I really can't wait first the 27 mile long traffic jam at Stonehenge, being stuck in the car with a resentful teenager who is going through her Freddie Kruger phase and a husband who will do nothing but winge. Should be heaps of fun, it'll be boiling hot on the journey and when we get there the heavens will open and it won't stop raining until about 2.00 am on Tuesday just in time for my return to work. Oh the joy of it!!!!!

Have a good weekend all.

FEINIGHTS

Does anyone remember 'FEINIGHTS'? I've had the most awful week and I just want to cross my fingers and say 'FEINIGHTS'. I don't want to play anymore!!!!!!! When I was a kid (yes I know I've got a good memory) if the game was getting too much you just called 'FEINIGHTS'. Why doesn't it work now? My boss (she who must be obeyed) just looked and told me to get on with it. I think it's an ageist thing myself people under the age of 35 just don't know that it's allowed. There's no sense of fair play these days that's the trouble.

For those of you too young to remember 'FEINIGHTS' it's a sort of 'time out' thing, but difficult to explain unless you played by those rules. It gives you a break from the game a time to catch your breath and was usually used when you were about to be caught out.

Is there anybody out there who knows what I mean????? Or cares for that matter????
