Hi Robbie,

I say an overwhelming amount of mail... I've had 233 messages since I joined the list on March 28th (today being April 9th).. it comes in spurts, From Friday Evening to Saturday morning there were 29 messages, although there's not usually anywhere near that many.
Some of them are quite short, some of them are chatty... we did have a message from Peta asking people not to use it for chatting, because she found it hard to filter through the mail for important stuff... Looking at the eGroups website the amount of mail has dramatically increased since the project started. For example, there were 93 messages to the group in February, and 278 in March almost three times as many... so far (today being April 9th) there have been 147 messages in April. This week's hot topics have been ways and means of greeting people on Wednesday, 'cause of tomorrows world, and the merits and otherwise of greeting people and giving them bunchloads of links, or none at all...

I asked about tdv's posting policy 'cause to me you all seem to be a quiet bunch... you, for example, spend a relatively large amount of time online (in the user window, I love to spy), but only have one active conversation, this one...smiley - winkeye
People from tdv don't seem to interact with other researchers all that much... or rather not in the same way that lots of researchers do. Its just something I noticed...
*wonders why it seemed important*

Take care,
Joanna

Hi Joanna

No I dont have an alter ego ( tho if I did I'd probably keep quiet about it!)

It was quite a night here last night - the servers here were overwhelmed following Tomorrow's World - the new one, hosted by our new ISP handled alot of new traffic pretty well, but I know that for all existing members, it was treacle.

Best

Robbie

Hi Robbie,
Treacle is one way of putting it... at one point the mailing list came to life with ACEs who couldn't get on... although after a while I wasn't noticing any difference anyhow 'cause my connection is *very* slow.smiley - smiley

Its nice to see lots of newbies in the user window..smiley - smiley

Joanna (looking forward to hearing you on the radiosmiley - winkeye)

Well I enjoyed your radio interview with Andy Peebles.

And am trying to write entries on Manchester.

It was kind of you to take the time to listen.

How do you think it would have come across to somebody who had never heard of h2g2? Were the messages about what h2g2 is about clear enough?

I enjoyed doing the interview.

R.

Hi Robbie,

I think the message that everyone's an expert on something came across very clearly. You sounded like you were enjoying itsmiley - smiley so that made it sound attractive.

Hi Robbie,

It's been a long while and I won't be upset if you don't read this, but I enjoyed the film. Thank you.
