Hey darling!!! I was in Colorguard when I was in high school-- all four years dedicated to practice. And it paid off, of course-- SUCH MEMORIES!!! GO FLAGS!!!

Wow! Hooray! I just graduated, but I spent all of my 4 years in the flag hole as well. I spun weapon for my last 3 years though... Heh.. I was a little more keen on rifle than flag or sabre. Heh... You may or may not be pleased to know that I'm attending auditions for an independant group next month. Everybody Winterguard has been my goal since the 1st time I saw them. They're awesome. Yep... hooray for 'guard!

WINTERGUARD is awesome as well... but all I truly remember of Winterguard was making up our own choreography and wasting time determing what our outfits should look like...

Ahhh... those were the days...

Then girls would bring in the latest top ten hit and play it, telling me they thought we should dance to it, and "Do you know this one!?"

Sure, I am addicted to and have a deep loyalty for classic rock and oldies, but oh, I knew... it was "Firestarter" by Prodigy. Then I said, "No one's going to care about them or know who THEY are in twenty years..."



Ah. Winterguard.

I got to learn the rifle my last year... and we only had three... and basically had to teach ourselves... The school kinda pushed the "flag girls" aside...

Good luck with your audition!!! I'm happy for you-- seek what pleases you most. I remember missing guard DESPERATELY soon after I graduated. Two years later, I still dance around and make big circles with clean plates in the air as I unload the dishwasher....

The experience of auditioning will do your heart good!!!

Hehe... We never got to pick our music & we never really did much for school events. Our program wasn't funded by the school 'cause they woudn't dish out enough cash for us to achieve what our directors wanted us to. We just had a competetive field show, street show, & winterguard show. At the end of each year we had finals - & that was our only opprotunity to do something on our own.

I certainly hope auditions go well... I've been working 6 years to master my technique on all the pieces of equipment... not to mention dancing my heart out the past 4.... Ah, I might not even perform with the group... My Aunt keeps 'premonitioning' at me & saying she has a bad feeling about me moving away to perform... Ah, I dunno... I just graduating & the world is poking me in the chest in a threatening manner.

Do what YOU have to... you deserve to enjoy yourself, girly!!!
