Hi LJ, are you recovered from your hop to Lisbon? I was v tearful last night. As you know it was my daughter's last day at junior school. I had already cried in the morning at her leavers assembly and thought that was that. we had alovely picnic by the river, loads of kids, parents, tennis, food etc etc but as we left i noticed my girll was crying. That set me off and we both cried all the way home. It's mkaing me cry now thinking about it!
I had underestimated the way I would feel about my baby moving on to senior school. I am no longer a parent at her junior school even tho I am heavily involved and do some teaching there. A bit heavy for a sat morning but it has really upset me! You will have to cheer me up!
it's my daughter's late birthday party today so she is seeing her frineds anyway but I think she knows things will never be the same again

Sorry its a bit late am at my mums and have had a little sleep while the boy played - god if I hadn't I would have been in tears with you!!!

Am a bit all over the place myself at the moment for various reasons so I know where you're coming from with the bottom lip going. I take it this is your youngest so the last time you'll be in junior school. I'm already heavily involved with the playgroup committee, who'll probably all go on to do the school committee so I think I have some idea that its not just about the child growing up but also the change in those relationships too!!

Adrian is away for the next week or so and I miss his company terribly already, so we will have to see if we can keep each other smiling in the meanwhile. I've spotted a bottle of rose in my mum's cupboard which will be going in the fridge and I will be having a large one for you!!

Yes she is my youngest and there won't be any more! I too have done all the committees and am getting involved with the pta at senior school where the boys are. You have hit the nail on the head as it is also a lot to do with being involved in school life and all that stuff. I guess it is to do with feeling needed and as I am no longer a parent I won't be doing that stuff. Being staff requires a different hat and a different role.
Do you spend a lot of time mailing Adrian? He does seem like a lovely man. Let's hope the sun shines , it would be so unfair if it rains! Sounds like teh family have a fair lot to cope with with Daniel..gleaned that from reading threads a few weeks ago.
Is that Rose chilled yet? I need to co-op for a pinta, I'll pick up a bottle while I'm there. Are you around this evening? My hubby has gone out with the lads for the evening so i'm in doing nothing except cleaning. Fancy a chat?

Sorry Ditz, just for once I am actually somewhere else than at my PC on a Saturday night!! Still at my mums and can still pop in - if you are around I'm here for a few mins.

Adrian - well sometimes you meet someone and seemingly that applies to virtual also where you just click with them straight away - he's often at work when I am on my own with my son - between 6-8 weekdays and 6-9 weekends so we spend a fair amount of time together. I just think he's great, and bizarrely without me telling him he can spot my mood a mile off!! A very special and brave man - the whole family do have a lot to cope with - I hope that they have a great time - I'll just miss him in the meantime

Senior school parents never seem as involved as they do at junior school - but someone still does have to do it - it is just more of a thankless task I think.

Hopefully you'll get this during your cleaning (don't approve of the stuff myself!!), and I may even manage to get back to you!!

how strange - what does it say? Adrian said you could only be invited to get a googlemail account but Liz emails me on it and she doesn't use google mail.

Did you see ST's partner turn up on the reading room at about 1am on friday night? Adrian was besides himself - not good at all!! He couldn't let anyone know until Sat morning either!!

I don't mind being inundated - I like emails!!! , I am a communication junkie!!

Did you watch Billy Elliot? I cried a lot even tho it was the 3rd time of watching it for me!

No, but my neice was really into it a while back and so I have seen it several times. I love British films like The Full Monty, Brassed Off, East is East and things like that. Billy Elliott is good too!!

I saw it on stage just after it opened, a corporate hospitality do thru hubby's work. flowing freely, lovely grub, Elton John two rows in front of us..a good way to spend an evening!
