Hello Alexader! ( I think your name must be 'Alexander'..Am I right?)

I'm very pleased to read your Ukrainian letter!smiley - biggrin I admire people who respect our language!smiley - ok

Regarding idioms, yes, of course I know more Ukrainian idioms, but I'm so interested in English idioms! Maybe it's because I study at the faculty of foreign languages or maybe because just now I've been writing my term-parer "Colourful idioms in the English language"..

Unfortunately, I don't have such an opportuntity to listen to the BBC programmes with the help of the Internet..as my computer doesn't allow me such a pleasure!smiley - laugh I'll bye a new one soon..Now I have a laptop..

But last year I used to listen to English lessons at the radio "Era"..And, by the way, with Dmitro Kostenko..I liked musical lessons most of all! (Pop-phrases)

What can you reccomend me?smiley - erm

It was very nice to communicate in Ukrainian with you here..By the way, is it okay? Can we speak Ukrainian here? Maybe we should translate our Ukrainian letters into English?

All the best to you, smiley - hug
Dasha

P.s.Öå, äî ðå÷³ ñïðàâæíº äèâî, ùî ÿ çíàéøëà Âàø ëèñò ìåí³ òóò.....By the way, it's a real miracle that I was able to find your letter to me here...

Hello, Dasha!

They've closed your thread...
Is it because it was too long? Or maybe "mr Putin" complained?
I think we will never know the reason.
Are you going to start a new thread?
By the way, would you like Ukrainian to be POWERFUL and "famous" language in the World? (as famous as English or Russian?)

Dear Alex,
Yes, they have closed my thread..smiley - wah And the worst thing is that I don't know why..smiley - sadface Well, I've sent an email to BBC Message Boards, but I haven't got the answer yet..smiley - sadface Well, NewBrazilian (you know him as Mark) says that there is another closed thread in the Board, and it was not too long..smiley - sadface Well, I do hope that it'll be opened, but till that moment you may write to my new discussion thread 'The Circle of Friends'..Well, hope it won't be closed!

Well, yes, I do want Ukrainian to be as popular and powerful as English or Russian..But I'm afraid that it is not possible..At least in this world.smiley - smiley

Well, I do my best to do it popular in my village.smiley - winkeye At my house, at least!smiley - winkeye

What about you?

Take care,smiley - hug

Dasha, there are more closed threads in the Board. And they were in the past (they also closed one mine thread). I guess that some threads may be closed by mistake. The same is for the hidden messages. I saw some messages being unblocked. But I doubt they will reopen closed threads - so far I haven't seen any. I saw your new thread. If you or your guests will have questions for me, I may join it - let me know then.

"...Well, yes, I do want Ukrainian to be as popular and powerful as English or Russian..But I'm afraid that it is not possible..At least in this world..."

I think it is possible, if we would manage to do something like Microsoft, Google or Wikipedia, we could easily promote it all over the World. To do this thing we need something like 20-30 devoted, energetic and skilled young people...

Dear Alex,smiley - smiley

Shall we create a Club of Ukrainian??smiley - erm

Well, I'm not so perfect in Ukrainian, but I love it, and feel it my native language, so I wish you were right, and Ukrainian became a new popular world language!!!!! Let's do it!!!smiley - winkeye

Well, today I received such a reply from BBC:

Dear BBC Visitor,
Thank you for your email!
The thread in question was closed as it was over 4000 posts long and had veered off topic.
Once threads reach this length they are often closed for techical reasons due to the strain that they put on the messageboard servers.

Kind regards,

Central Communities Team.

Well, so it was the reason...

See you!!!

Take care,smiley - hug
