Oh, Azza, all your sad faces are making ME sad. Love is a gamble, every time around. Sometimes we win, but most of the time we lose... Just remember, the entire world has been in the position you are in right now at one point or an other. Most people's lives are a history of relationships that didn't go anywhere. Sometimes, we are very very lucky and find someone we can make something with. That is rare.

Yes, Azza, some women like bastards. But most of us don't. If it's a relationship you're looking for, the secret is to find someone who is also looking for a relationship. Which is not an easy thing.

The best relationships start as friendships, but most often we all base relationships on the immediate physical attraction, and hardly give our opposite-sex friends a second look. And so we all go through lots of people who we really may not be compatible with at all, but we are attracted to.

The most important thing is to find someone you can talk to. But then, I'm no expert. Shawn will back me up on that one.....

Well, I found that once I got past about 23, I rarely met new people. So it was either develop an attraction to someone I already knew and never thought of in that light before, or wait for someone to become "unattached."

And, my own current good fortune notwithstanding, I would generally recommend against meeting someone on the 'net. The endless string of lonely nights stretching before you can seem a bit overwhelming at times....

Still, , I wouldn't trade Shawn in for anything in the world.

These things take a horrible amount of patience, Azza. We are all still young. And sometimes we meet people in the most unexpected of ways, and the most unexpected of places. Who knows, you could meet someone tomorrow in the cereal aisle at the grocery store.

I'd say that probably you go for the type of women who give you what you're looking for at the time.... When you really, really think you're ready to settle down, you'll probably find a very nice woman who's ready to settle down as well. My guess is that, despite your claim of looking for a relationship, the fact that you were with someone several years younger (and not nearly at the settling stage of her life) probably means that you're not quite ready to settle down yet, either.

The snowmen, reindeer, Santa, etc, are randomly chosen by the Powers That Be. So, when you do the surprised face--the number 8, -, ), like this --you might get a snowman or an angel. And it might be an angel now, and when you go back in fifteen minutes later, it's miraculously turned into a snowman, without your having touched it. The winking face is always Santa (I think), and the sad one always seems to be an elf, but the others seem to change.
