I heard that someone wrote to DNA about the "What is 6 x 9" question for the ultimate answer. Apparently 6 x 9 = 42 in base 13. I hereby invite everyone to join my new forum called..... BASE THIRTEEN. This will be a refuge for people who are too old and boring to appreciate the DNA role playing that goes on here and step outside to the real world of H2G2 intentions. Here we will talk about the real issues - politics, geography, travel, sex and green bug-eyed monsters (whoops, sorry, I couldn't help that one slipping out).
What do you think?

Hi. You very kindly left a message on my homepage so I thought I'd return the favour. It's taken a while because I hardly ever switch on the computer.
Are you still finding this site hard to get to grips with? I can't really judge whether or not it is, since my husband wrote quite alot of it.
I think there are a fair number of non-clones around if you look hard enough. James (U6) knows a few. Try his homepage.

Hi, thanks for the note - I'd got kind of bored with this site actually but it feels so good to have a reply to something I feel compelled to give it another shot.
The vision for what this site can offer seems very confused to me - it just appears to be a glorified chat room at the moment and not the essential repository of all things useful and interesting that HHGTTG seemed to be aiming for. I assume that DNA had a hand in designing it so I suppose it be heading in the right direction, maybe it's a bit early to complain.
The interface is hard to get to grips with and I think it will eventually have to resort to something more specialised that facilitates abstract thinking. I did actually tentatively apply to TDV with ideas on how it might be done last year but I think the timing was wrong. Either that or they somehow reached the conclusion that I was nuts - a simple mistake given the circumstances I suppose.
It's interesting that you've sparked a lot of comment about babies and all the stuff that goes with it - I visit a US site called www.histio.org quite a lot which is devoted to a disease my daughter suffers from. There is a lot of practical & emotional stuff on there too in the context of a nasty and poorly understood disease. People need to share extreme experiences and the internet removes a lot of barriers to communication I think. I'll bet TDV didn't think that sort of thing would happen...
Key: Complain about this post
