Ah good another person who doesn't get them, i do love mornings watching those around me deal with theirs...perhaps not the best attitude, but they're generally not in a state to notice my smugness

I don't them, but only because I can't drink enough to get one. I'm tiddly on about a pint these days, although I've not had more than a half for over a year, so who knows.

NBB, I'm over due a trip to your neck of the woods... you may well get your first hangover for a while

Hangovers?
Are we allowed some serious off-the-topic drift here? As in 'what's your worst hangover?'
And the reason I'm asking is because it's your journal, Pastey, and one of my journals long ago switched into something I didn't like at all.

Hangover's aren't topic drift for me
My worst was many years ago, had a bit of a binge on a weekend off work, went in again on the Tuesday morning. I was working in the bar trade back then, and, er, had way too much that weekend as weekends off were rare. Anyhoo, lunchtime opening, feeling really bad, a customer (thankfully a regular) came in, ordered some food and drink, and I promptly threw up over the bar.
That was actually the last proper hangover I've had, and that was almost twenty years ago.

Mine is just now ebbing away (I hope). It's the headache I've had for a month. It started as just a hangover headache, but what actually caused it, I don't know.

This was many years ago, before I had 'learnt' to like beer (shocking, I know).
A colleague had invited some of us for dinner. Most of the others had beer, I had red wine, when someone pulled out a bottle of Jägermeister and insisted on pouring a shot for each of us. And another, and another.
Whatever you do, never mix red wine and Jägermeister
We were planning on going to this place later in the evening to listen to Boney M (not the original setup, mind you) and I threw up even before we left my colleague's place (at least I made it to the bathroom in time, phew).
I even fell asleep sitting at a table despite the high volume.
The worst thing was that at this time, I played the flute in a marching band, and we were due to perform the next day.
Hungover, sunshine, heat, empty stomache (just the thought of breakfast was making me feel queasy) trying to play the flute - I went straight to bed once I got home, after swallowing a couple of painkillers together with a couple of gallons of water.

I actually have an urge to mix jaegermeister and red wine now. Sounds like a great replacement for mulled wine.
