SetupWeasel

I learned today that I didn't really mess up my financial aid for fall semester.

You see, I had a date that I had to have a application for my state grant (well actually "Commonwealth" grant is more like it, but if you want to know more about that see my page on Pennsylvania) into the office that deals with that sort of thing. Well I procrastinated to the very last day, near to the very last hour, to send it off overnight mail.

Of course it got there late anyway. Thank you US Postal Service. Fortunately, in one of the very lucky events of my life the kindly bureaucrat with a heart of pure gold who recieved it did not consider it late.

This tends to confirm my assessment of myself as the second most successful procrastinator in the world. (who is the first? Douglas Adams, of course.) The interesting thing about this event in my life is that it marks the first time I have been able to push back a deadline simply with my procrastinative power. (in other words, by just sending it in late, not begging or pleading for its acceptance)

Thus it marks my first glimmer of hope that I too may have procrastination power strong enough for it to be called an official superpower. The power to get an A finishing a 25 page paper 15 minutes before it is due is impressive, but having the power to push back deadlines by sheer tardiness... that's a superpower. Only one other man has it, Douglas Adams himself. And now I join the ranks of the superheros, worthy, yea verily, of my own comic book.
