h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

Are you going to the Party in London on 20 July? I'm thinking about it, but I don't want to book the flights until I find a few people I know who have said they'll be there too.

Hi G! I'm so sorry I didn't reply earlier - I just didn't notice the posting. I hardly ever look at that part of the page; I don't expect to get messages! I usually only check the threads I've visited previously.

I suppose I should ask "What party?" Is it an h2g2 thing, or a BE (sequel) thing?

Either way, although I'll be in London on that day, I'll be attending the wedding of a close friend. I have a feeling it's going to be a magical weekend - but sadly, it will tie me up completely.

I might be able to get free the following day if the guests I'll be putting up leave nice and early. I'm opening my doors to a family I've never met before, and they've got kids. The things we do for friends.

Maybe I should visit the h2g2 front page more often!

You should subscribe to your own home page. That way you'll always notice if you get personal messages. The party is the h2g2 Summer Party. Of the BritEng lot, I'll be there and so will TC and Phil. I'm not aware of any others. The Party takes up Saturday Afternoon and Evening. There is nothing planned for Sunday. I'll probably be sightseeing around London.

I never would have though of subscribing to my own page!

Let me see how plans for that weekend develop - who knows, I might be able to slip away at some point without causing too much offence!
