They're all anagrams of Spring Onion, which is the name (I can't remember why) for the next h2g2 meetup, in Manchester next weekend.

Most of the researchers going have inserted Spring Onion into their names somehow or other (such as 'adjusting spring on ion cannon') so this is my particular take smiley - smiley
