I wander between two computers at the north end of Southampton. One's in Swaythling and the other's in Portswood. I can be convinced to go elsewhere if there's a nerdy reason to. (like a h2g2 meetup)

Ahhh yes Jesters - is that still going or have they closed it down due to a cholera outbreak - not the cleanest place in the world smiley - laugh
My main memory of that place is that Chris Packham (from the Really Wild Show) was *always* in there and all he ever did was play on the fruit machine.

It's still going, unfortunately. I don't remember seeing Christ Packham, but then it's impossible to recognise anyone in that place.

My pet annoyance about pubs around here is that they fall into two distinct categories:

1. Student pubs, where there's about 10 zillion stone drunk students jostling around, making enough noise to split your eardrums and preventing you from getting to the bar; and

2. Local pubs, which look nice, sell nice drink and food, are nice and quiet, but when somebody of my age walks in all the locals think I'm a student and give me seriously evil looks.

I don't fancy my chances in either type smiley - winkeye
