An Offer You Can Refuse
A Super Furry Animal Started conversation May 15, 2005
Hello EV!
As you may have noticed, I have moved into a new flat in London's Docklands.
As you may also have observed, there will be a London meet in July.
You may not be aware that my flat has a spare bedroom...long story short, you need to get a 2-bed flat in order to get a separate kitchen in this part of town*...
Anyway, I thought I'd offer first refusal to you and fords to stay with me, rather than stump up for a London hotel, if you'd prefer. You'd be best off flying in to City Airport, but if you can't find a cheap flight to/from there, it's quite easy to get to and from Stansted as well.
*Long version: one-bedroom flats are designed for single, hard-working City folk, who only use a fridge (for beer/wine) and microwave (for heating ready meals) when they're not eating in restaurants. the rest of the kitchen equipment is for show, rather than use, and is in the living room. This is described as "open plan", and is no use to snyone with pretensions to be a proper (like me).

Oh, I see. How very kind! Er, I'll be with you in a second...

You're welcome! Directions, and discussions, and all that, nearer the time...but book your flight early to get the cheap deals!
We'll arrange some kind of entertainment for Sunday as well.

Aspirin on toast, for starters!
Depends on what time your flights home are...we could do lunch in Canary Wharf, or venture back into Central London if you're going home in the evening. Anything you particularly want to do?

Right then. Due to British Airways luring us in with the promise of cheap fares and then levying surcharges in excess of the actual fare itself, and the other airlines being crap, we're going by train. We get into Kings Cross at 2pm on the Saturday, which leaves us a reasonable amount of time to get to the Science Museum for 3, and we leave Kings Cross at 4pm on the Sunday, which leaves us a reasonable amount of time to do something beforehand. Any questions?
