Spiky Visitor
Posted May 26, 1999
Some people living not in Australia think that we have kangaroos running rampant through our streets along with dingos and other wildlife. Well it's really not true. Until the other day I had never seen an echidna in real life and when I did see one it was in my backyard. Yes the other night my dog had an echidna cornered in my backyard. It rolled itself into a spiky ball (the echidna, not the dog) and the dog was having a lovely time woofing at it madly! It would have been bigger than your average rugby league football. But it was gone by morning....

Well isn't this exciting!

my first journal entry and I really don't think I have much to say. I've been sitting at this computer for ages now trying to think how I can be like Douglas Adams all wit and intelligence and I've decided to not even try! I was supposed to be spending today writing a new 'drug- education' policy for our school but the consultant didn't turn up so here I am in the computer lab being somewhat anti-social in front of the nerd box. But I love the whole idea of h2g2 so I won't feel guilty!
Mundane is the name of my life. I come to school each day, teach something to my class (hopefully) and return home to my dog. This town I have moved to is very small and there are very few people around that I relate to (or relate to me) ohmigod I'm single and young- nearly unheard of in this place!! The nearest bookstore is about 2hours away,
along with movie theatres, clothes stores, CD shops and anything else that is enjoyable. My closest friends are 1hour away!! What can I do apart from whinge and whine!! HELP
