places to chat

kea ~ Far out in the uncharted backwaters of the unfashionable end of the western spiral arm of the Galaxy lies a small, unregarded but very well read blue and white website

Hey mr smiley - smiley

I notice that you've been starting a few 2legs threads in Ask. Because you're newish here I thought I'd share some of the history about Ask. There was a lot of discussion last year about stopping using Ask as a place of general chat, as it was becoming overloaded with playful and chatty threads. This was annoying to those people who were subscribed to Ask for the more informative and question based threads. It also meant that people looking for the question threads were finding them hard to find and so the overall nature of the place changed quite alot.

The upshot of all that was that the Italics revamped the various official talk forums (linked off the front page), and many threads were shifted from Ask to <./>MiscChat</.> and <./>GamesRoom</.>

Ask was then to be kept, generally, for questions where people were wanting information rather than a place to chat.

As it is, a request has been put to the Italics to move your latest threads to Chat. You can follow the convo here: F615?thread=3181842

<./>MiscChat</.> is the best place for those kinds of threads were you are wanting to chat. Do you think you could start threads there instead of Ask?

smiley - cheers
kea.
