Still only the 2 accounts, I've complained about it once but no one seems bothered.

I don't suppose there is much they can do about it.
Anyway, I reckon it's more than 2 - I'm sure I've spotted a couple of other contenders?!
What do you think of the Radio 4 'Questions' MB? Haven't seen you post on there for some time.

If they record IP addresses and Mr WAV doesn't mask his own (doubtful) then they can match accounts to individual PCs. Of course, there probably isn't a rule against multiple people using the same PC.
He'll dig his own hole sooner or later anyway.
That "Questions, questions" thing is almost as bad as the Science & Nature board, it's either people pretending to be clever or people who are clever and are unable to do anything apart from condescend and ridicule others.
Oh, don'r forget the out and out nutters.

I think they only would only bother match up the email address you have used to register with (that's if they even bother with that) - so you could basically sign up any number of times as you have email adresses. I don't think the Science & Nature board is even as bad as Questions, Questions - just have a look at these - it's ridiculous: http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio4/F2766777?thread=3539093 http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbradio4/F2766777?thread=3539075 I don't know why they don't just shut it down. Seems completely pointless to me. p.s. I'm just about to download 'Mezzanine' - that is unless I get a better offer.

Are you downloading as MP3, WMV or something or is it a compressionless format?
My copy is 320 kbs - the highest quality you can get (with compression) ripped straight from my original CD..
I've also got the 3 other Massive Attack studio albums,

WMA*
I was thinking more of the patronising smart arses on Questions ... rather than the people with primitive senses of humour of which your 2 links were good examples.

WMA. I suppose you're going to tell me that's no good?! Too late now! I just assumed that if that's the main format on offer, then it should be OK?
I've actually downloaded Collected, then I'm going to add the extra 'missing' tracks from Mezzanine - if that makes sense! Seems to work out cheaper that way.

WMA is Windows Media Audio, basically the same as an MP3. The "bitrate" it is encoded at will determine its quality - the higher the better.
You should be able to burn these files to CD as well but some WMAs have copy protection/authentication gubbins on them which I don't understand too well.
I always wondered what type of sucker would PAY for music over the web and you've just enlightened me.

Yes - I have burnt them onto CD as well.
As far as being a sucker is concerned, I suppose there is a first time for everything!

Erm nothing.
You do know that writeable CDs don't last very long don't you?

Arachnophobe Posted Oct 4, 2006
In fact, you'll be lucky if they last til tomorrow.
Mugs game I say.

Trust you to take it to the extreme!
What do you keep all *your* music on then? Don't tell me you store it all on your pc? You'll be f*cked if someone nicks it.

Arachnophobe Posted Oct 4, 2006
It's only 29 Gb so I keep it on my PC (backed up to DVD/CD of course - they aren't that bad)

Do you know, I could have *sworn* you once argued the toss about not bothering back stuff up, on POV .... oooh, I thing I may have just stumbled on it *quite* by accident! : http://www.bbc.co.uk/dna/mbpointsofview/F1951566?thread=3360101&skip=80&show=20#p39321078

I was talking about a backup *regime* i.e. daily or weekly, not one-offs.
I transfer to DVD to release space or, I admit, I transfer music once in a while - I;ve only done it twice since I started building an MP3 collection in the late 90s.

I think I probably guessed that (well, sort of!). I don’t usually bother backing up – apart from a few photos (oh, and my Pandora Inc. accounts, of course!) – haven’t got much else of any importance on my pc.
Anyway, I think I should’ve taken you up on your offer – my downloads seem to have been somewhat corrupted – can only play half the tracks (which fortunately includes Unfinished Symphony, but *not* Teardrop – damn!!) - I’ve had to email ‘them’ to get it sorted (I daren’t say 'who’ – you’ll only take the piss!) – will probably take weeks for them to respond!
