Hi Peet

I saw your comment in the FAQs thread, and wondered if that's the best place for it.

Have you got yourself onto the Noesis forums yet? I know that Pastey's said you're going to be one of the tech-type volunteers.

I think the tech board in the Noesis forum would be the best place for that post. It's too important to lose in the FAQs thread.

All the best

Ben

Cheers, Ben.

No, I haven't been to the Noesis forums just yet. Do you have a link?

I just posted that while it was on my mind; at the moment I'm having memory problems, so if I'd navigated away I would probably have forgotten half of what I wanted to say. smiley - blush

We're secret squirrels! I'll tell Jordan, Vip and Ottox to look out for you and one of them will give you the access you need.

That board is *phenomenally* quiet... I had hoped that folk from Noesis would be around to answer questions. smiley - erm

Pastey and Brian are with the BBC tech guys right now, talking over what they can. There is so much still they can't be told until the ink is dry on the paperwork smiley - rolleyes or if the BBC guys told them, then they'd have to shoot them, and we can't do with Pastey and Brian being shot right now. (I'm saving that for later...).

There are three things that I can see need doing: setting up the Gurus, working on the whole ID / No Researcher Left Behind thing, and what I think of as Operation Drag and Drop - ie moving the content. There's a fourth, which is organising testers.

I'm happy to hook up with Pastey tomorrow on the Gurus - that's the only thing that I can actually help with. He should be back from London by then.

Regarding NRLB and Drag and drop, there's not much going on because not much can go on... Yet.

I made a point about the Blob archive that I hoped someone from Noesis would respond to, if only to say "we've thought of that"... smiley - artist

Noesis are infrastructure dudes, they are providing the servers and the bandwidth. They are very hands-off regarding the code, the data and the site, which I think will suit us best. We're hand crafting the 1s and 0s. I say "we".... smiley - erm

D'ya think whoever has responsibility for the Blobs could pop in there and tell me if they've thought about the problems I'm raising, then? Pretty please... smiley - grovel

I've no idea who that would be! smiley - yikes

Have you asked the question in the Noesis forum?

Yes. I don't want to talk about it on here because I don't want to be thought of as the "guy who killed the move"... smiley - erm

It wasn't a good thought, though. smiley - blue
