Hi Peet
Very long time no see. This is just to say I appreciate you saying that the Italics are missing the point I am making. I am torn between acknowledging that I am being petty, (I am), and having to continue to be that petty because they miss the point.
In actual fact of course the real point is not that they used the wrong forum for posting messages about the site. The real point is that they can't get their sweet heads around the idea that if they are nice to us we'll be nice to them. I am very very worried about the state of the community, and alternating between ignoring us and patronsising us is no way to foster a healthy, active, involved and committed community.
It is like the old joke - the University would be great if it wasn't for the students.
No. It wasn't funny the first time it was told, either.
Anyway, thanks for helping me feel that I am not being out-of-step and out-of-kilter in saying what I am saying.

Hey, Ben!
Good to see you too!
Yeah, Jimster seemed to be focusing on the idea that we thought that sort of thing shouldn't be advertised on-site, which isn't what we (in the loosest possible sense) have been complaining about.
