It's been a quiet day.
I had hoped to get the Virtual Private Server set up ready to migrate my "Mustardland" sometime tomorrow, but there have been problems. The web interface for initialising the server rejects all the "Host Names" I tried, and the list of Operating System choices doesn't include the most recent version of Ubuntu that I spent the best part of two days researching.
I can't do anything till I hear back from 34SP in the morning.
I got a load into the washing machine, but that;s about the only "productive" thing I've done today.
I spoke to my Mum on the 'phone at length earlier. She's really not well. It's the first time in years that I haven't had to hold the 'phone at arms length to hear her properly...
I watched "Orphan Black", "Grimm", "Vera" and I'm currently half-watching the second half of "Star Wars Episode IV". I may watch some Netflix later.
Sunday.

That was the plan, but when I first went to set it up the only LTS edition on offer was 10.04.
But, since I emailed and complained about that yesterday they've added 14.04LTS to the list of options.
I've initialised the server now, and given them the go-ahead to spend up to two hours (£120) configuring it. In theory, as long as it's configured right to start with, we should never need to go in and change anything. At least for the next five years anyway, which is how long 14.04 is guaranteed to be supported.
The irony is, of course, that we need it configured to use PHP 5.2.4 or similar, which lost all support back in 2010, because that's the last version where our "Preview" worked properly.
But at least you'll be pleased, as in theory things like Hebrew and Greek will work in subject titles again.
Sunday.

Good on ya Peet. Glad about the Hebrew and Greek!
Been watching YouTube all day. Mandela was a Communist apparently.

That might explain why he was still on US terrorist watchlists until about five years ago.
