Well, I had my first dayn of dialysis-from-home. It was...interesting.
The downside. I left the house just after midday and didn't get home till just after 9pm. I have to do this three times a week. And apparently that was an "average" session, they can take longer. And because I didn't know I would be out so long I went without my Insulin, leading to a scrabble around the wards to find a suitable shot.
On the plus side, though, I discovered that on top of free transport (taxi fares would have been about £8 each way) I get provided with two decent meals, one cold and one cooked!
The battery life on my "Hudl" is more than enough to watch TV through the experience, all the same shows I would have been watching at home anyway. All I need is a better set of headphones, so I can follow the dialogue over the background noise. Sue thinks she has found a suitable pair in Argos for me - I'll check them out and get back to her tomorrow.
By the end, it seems that my mind is sharper but my body is weaker.
While I was being dialysed, I watched "Suburgatory", "Archer" and "Supernatural". I plan to watch "The Graham Norton Show" before I crash. I'm incredibly tired, and I have a visit from the District Nurse tomorrow.
