Ten little toes, nine little toenails...

Well, actually, I still have the tenth toenail; it's sitting on the couch behind me.* smiley - winkeye

Basically, I called the podiatrist at 9:10 am, to find out that the clinic's computer was down and they couldn't issue any appointments today. After some hassling on my part, they told me to show up around 2:40 and they'd see me between the "regular" patients.

I had a lie-down for a bit, then around lunchtime I borrowed a fiver from Amit and made my way into town with a little time to kill. After paying for the all day bus ticket, I had just over £2 left; I popped into "Quid's In" and bought a pack of smiley - coffee and three canned soft drinks. I had the first of the drinks sitting in the sunshine on the wall surrounding the statue in the middle of Golden Square. smiley - wowsmiley - ok Then I visited "Plan 9" and the Library, dropping off a video and CD to Hazel before making off to the Denburn Clinic.smiley - footprintssmiley - footprintssmiley - footprints

When I finally got "seen" the news was all good. Apparently, without trying particularly hard, I had done *exactly* the right thing by holding the loose nail on with a clean sock until my appointment. The toe had reduced to normal size and was almost pink again, and the toenail fell of with little more than a light touch. A shiny new nail had already started to form below it. smiley - nursesmiley - ok It seems the black toe was the result of injury, not infection. smiley - smiley

I got the toe sterilised and dressed, then headed home via the COGS premises. I had supper, then headed out to Bisset and Hazel's. I ate, drank and found my way home... It's hot, and I need to fall over soon. smiley - zzz I have to phone the clinic in the morning to arrange a "dressing change" appointment. smiley - injured

*I'm varnishing the toenail to make a keyring... smiley - winkeye

Congratulations for being so brave, Peet. smiley - injured I was sorry to hear about your adventure with the toe but am glad all's well that ends well. smiley - brave

Just a reminder that Pickfords are coming to pack up my computer early on Monday morning, so if you are going to get that DVD to me, it will have to be soon - ie in the next few days. As I've said before, if it's hassle, don't worry about it. smiley - ok

cheers,
Dagesh smiley - biggrin
