Peet (the Pedantic Punctuation Policeman, Muse of Lateral Programming Ideas, Eggcups-Spurtle-and-Spoonswinner, BBC Cheese Namer & Zaphodista)

It's been a lazy Sunday afternoon for me; I went to the Supermarket, watched the latest "Enterprise", ate lots of salad and generally bummed around on Mustardland.

They have been having problems with a Troll for some time now, who has been threatening towards other posters. Last night someone found out that this Troll had attended a recent meet-up, with his daughter in tow, pretending to be someone else. They posted the evidence on the Mustardland board; it was Moderated away. They posted the evidence on the Mustardland board; it was Moderated away. They posted the evidence on the Mustardland board; it was... and so on. smiley - silly

So, armed only with the slimmest of clues (a copy of the posting with all but a common Christian name dashed out) I set about Googling to fill in the blanks. A couple of hours on and I've got a fair chunk of the guy's life history, his RL address and 'phone number (at least, as it was early in 2004), descriptions of his family right down to eye colour and IQ, a rant about one of his ex-wives that borders on slander and his application to be a sperm donor. smiley - jester

If I can find all that info without really trying, how much more can the p*ssed-off residents of Mustardland come up with? I'll be amused to watch how this develops... smiley - rofl

I dropped off the most recent two episodes of "Doctor Who" to Doug & Sue earlier; they were entranced by the whole proceedings on Mustardland too. smiley - winkeye

The truth will out, eh Peet? And so funny that the troll and the IRL personalities should so closely match. You can change your login, but you can never change your personality - you can hide it for a while, but like your fingerprints the true 'you' is deeply etched.

That's why I never bothered trying to develop an online "Persona". smiley - laugh

Well I was not amused Peet by the idea of having this raving maniac corroding the good cheer and relative trust of ML and also the meets. For more vulnerable people it must have been quite a shock.

Fair point, Martine. I enjoyed the brief flurry of surfing to try to unmask him, but I accept that his RL infiltration of a meet was unacceptable. I hope that by demonstrating our willingness and ability to find out all his personal details we can discourage him from his sockpuppetry.

Blimey Peet how many has this creep had ?

I'm quite glad that my internet skills aren't up to yours or I might tbe tempted to do more with the information - a ton of manure on the front lawn is just a passing thought.

Two ex-wives, and two children with each. He may or may not have had one or more children with a lesbian couple he approached with a view to becoming a sperm donor for in February 2004. smiley - erm

I thought there was nothing left in life to surprise me but there obviously is. Thank God.

That's not lesbophobic by the way but I've seen this guy and well I'm astounded. I hope they said "not today. thank you".

He offered to send them photos of himself and his four kids. I didn't see if they replied.
