Why I have been away for so long.
Posted May 4, 2005
The reason why I have not posted here for years is, apart from abject laziness, the Myst/URU games!
Yes, a computer game set in a virtual world has kept me glued to the pc.
Oh well, it keeps me off the streets I suppose. If you played it then I reckon that you would be bitten by the bug too.

Coping with European Defecatories
Posted Jun 26, 1999
As a seasoned traveller in the North Western part of Europe I have often been confronted with alien forms of toilet pan (I am talking big jobs here). These range from the hole in the ground with grab handles - to stop the unwary user taking a step back into oblivion - through the usual British design - a sensible vertical plop into water - to the pan with a flat shelf at the rear and water filled exit to the sewer in the front!
It is the latter form of toilet pan that I have researched. To take a comfortable British-style dump with the necessary splash accompaniment - for which one normally waits for with bated breath - is impossible. After long and careful consideration I believe that I have come up with the solution to all the problems associated with this form of bog. It is merely neccessary to sit facing the cistern! So simple yet unthought of until now! No embarrasing skid marks either! If anyone would like to patent this mould breaking idea please don't forget where you read this first.
And you have a place to rest your reading material.

Fashion wear
Posted May 21, 1999
The Anorak is one of the most under-rated and deprecated items of clothing in the world, quite wrongly of course.
This garment is in reality the most useful and stylish since the fig leaf. Just consider the sweep of all weather hood with a fur rim if you are really lucky, it is guaranteed to keep the rain off your glasses and you their is the added bonus of being able to mop up any runny spots or pimples.
Further down, on the front, is the concealed zip which can be worn fully shut, closed to the neck or any where in between. Left and right at about hip level are the spacious flapped pockets, large enough to take a packet of sandwiches and a train spotters manual. Pen and pencils find room in the inner breast pocket (left) purse and platform tickets in the right hand one, the one with the security zip.
A good quality anorak has a removable inner lining, use this during inclement weather it compliments your knitted wool mittens and bobble-hat perfectly.
The garment has an ideal length of mid-thigh, this allows perfect freedom of the lower limbs when one needs to escape the attention of the bad boys who seem to find an anorak-wearer an object of ridicule. It is hard wearing and washable thousands of times.
An Anorak is a friend for life, if you are lucky enough not to grow too quickly, one purchased at the age of 15 (let your Mum choose it preferably) will still be your pride and joy when you reach 30 or more.

what a knackering day Monday is. Should not the Weekend be extended to 3 days and moved to the middle of the week to avoid spoiling Saturday and Sunday?
