really... all caps is not nearly as rude as
telling someone that it is rude the first time they come on here...
or calling someone stupid... which is what mubeta has done to me recently
as he did when i first came on here...
why dont you, feisor, tell mu beta that he is being rude...
i seriously do not understand you aces
or the policies here
i am beginning to think the policy is to alienate newbies
in order to undermine hootoo
well... its working
gotta a question for you...

I did not tell the Researcher that they were rude - if you read the post what I said was "here, as elsewhere on the internet, it is perceived as shouting and considered a little rude." What I made was a suggestion and I left a hint for happier participation, not only on hootoo but elsewhere as well.
As for MuBeta I suggest that you simply ignore him. It would be rude of me to jump into a conversation simply to castigate him - especially after the event. Besides which, it is not my place to do so - if a post offends you and breaks <./>HouseRules</.> you can "yikes" it.

i did not tell you that you told the researcher that THEY were rude...
if you read the post what i said was "it is rude"
it really is not debatable
if you had just left off the last sentence of your posting to AALIYAHANDTINKY17
everything would have been fine
furthermore... as for the mubeta thingie...
how else can one intervene except after the fact (of the infraction)?
and what is wrong with "simply castigating"?
you DID do that with AALIYAHANDTINKY17 no matter if you think you were suggesting and hinting.
i just am sick of the general way of things here
the dichotomies
people laugh and look the other way for people they like
or who have a following on here
but...
you all jump like hungry dogs
on a newbie if they do one little thing not according to protocol
gotta a question for you...

Regardless of your perception I feel that the message I left was not alienating and I stand by it - but you are entitled to your opinion. I will not "debate" it further.
On the MuBeta issue, you seem to misunderstand the role of the <./>ACE</.>s - we are not unofficial moderators or police. We really have no more rights on this site than any other researcher. Once again it is not my place to jump into a conversation to castigate another researcher,
If, in the course of a conversation, I feel that something wrong has been said I will speak up (if I feel it is appropriate) but only as an individual researcher - not as an <./>ACE</.>
I am not part of any "club" - I have been here a long time and may know some people better than others - that is all.
Yes, there are cliques here but the only group that I belong to is the <./>ACE</.>s and I am a bit of a loner even there. There are cliques wherever you go - whether at a pub or at work or in any social situation. You should learn to either deal with it or ignore it - it's your choice.

okay...
i just get confused...
when i was a newbie i did talk to you i think
about the mubeta thing
and i got the same advice i think
to ignore people who bothered me like that
but it just seems some ace
some where on here
shoulda at that time
'suggested' or 'hinted' to mubeta
and a cupla other regular researchers who were giving me a hard time
that they could behave more politely to newbies
thats all i am saying
and i stand by my position on that
gotta a question for you...

You are entitled to your opinion.
Try to think of this place, not as a home, but as somewhere you visit. It's a place where all sorts of people visit - some you will like, others you won't, and others you'll just want to avoid.
Learn your own limitations and revel in your talents - you know what they are (in both cases). Don't let the MBs of this place get you down - that only makes them feel successful - rise above them and know when to walk away. Every time you don't "bite back" you are the winner - pat yourself on the back. For every one MB I am sure there are many more people who appreciate you and smile when they see a message from you
Like the real world - you should take from this place the things you enjoy and ignore those things that you don't.
A wise man once said,
"God grant me the serenity
To accept the things I cannot change;
Courage to change the things I can;
And wisdom to know the difference."

Feisor!
now i truely know why you are an ace!
that was and is just wonderful... what you said!
thank you very much and...
you know...
it means so much more because you pulled that out
after i had come down on you rather rudely
and seeing this place as a place to visit is a good idea and i will implement it now
there was a time, when i first came on here, when this was all i had, in a way
so it was home
but my life is picking up
and things fit into a new perspective that i am getting on just about everything!
thank you
gotta a question for you...

I'm pleased that I was able to help
Sometimes it just takes another person to put into words those things that you already know
I suspected that you were in a "bad patch" - from what I have seen of you on site, it was a little "sharp" Not really your usual style
I'm so pleased that life is looking up for you - keep smiling
One thing I like about this place is that, if it does get a bit "testy" you don't even have to walk away - you just hit the "close" button and go somewhere nicer. It's like slamming the door in someone's face - they just don't realise it
Key: Complain about this post
