It depends where you want to link to ....
and whether it's in a message or on a personal space - I'll assume that you mean in a message
To link to a user simply type the U number U11218629
if it's to an article or Guide entry type the a number A719840
if it's to an outside link (within the <./>HouseRules</.> cut and paste the URL from your browser address bar
http://www.bbc.co.uk/chatguide/personalsafety/details.shtml
There are also special pages known as <./>NamedEntries</.> - to learn about these just click on the link I have just made
Hope that this helps

BTW - Don't forget to open your space - even just "hi" will do - you can always change it and add to it later, It's a great way for people to find out a little about who they are speaking to, and you can find out a little about them by just clicking on the name at the top of their message

And you opened your space
I didn't realise that you are a "younger Researcher"
As you are a "younger" researcher I will now point out some stuff that you should know - it's not too heavy and there's some fun stuff too
Firstly, from the <./>HouseRules</.> ...
"If you're Under Age 16
* Please get your parents' or guardians' permission before taking part in h2g2 or any other BBC Discussion Message Board.
* Never reveal any personal information about yourself (for example, your telephone number, home address or email address) without getting your parents' or guardians' permission first."
Secondly, you might like to check out http://www.bbc.co.uk/chatguide/children/index.shtml
there's some stuff there that's really worth knowing
and finally,
There's a special place for you to chat with people your own age (away from us adults ) You can join The Young Researchers' Club at A983171 and find lots of fun things to do and talk about.
But most importantly,
Have fun
