h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

I chanced on to the h2d2 site and was instantly taken with it. I've been on many forums now addressing a wide variety of categories and served as a moderator in a few so I can appreciate your situation as an ACE. I've even created forums for my own sites where I'm the administrator.

I'm full or stories possibly owing to my parents origins of Texas and
the Appalachian Ohio Valley. We have a rich heritage in my part of the world of sharing stories and insights as we go about our work. The population is sparce here so anytime we get together there is much in the way of events since the last time to share. Perhaps that's why we generate so many journalist and writers here. The best known of our locals being Jesse Stuart, Harry M Caudill, Zane Grey, and more recently Homer Hickam. Each have gained international acclaim by relating stories from this region.

I have a few projects in mind for h2d2 and I'm already tugged between reading more here and researching those projects to outline and compile
the data. I've noticed many vacancies for these ideas that could serve the Edited Guide. In the meanwhile I'll be looking at the writing guide and the A71 page. I've posted a few responses so far as a sampling to get my feet on the ground here. I'm sure I could bring much to the table of h2d2 for all to enjoy.

If I have a question now it is to the preference for future, past, or
present orientation of the Guide Topics. Is there actually a stated preference ? If there is, I would't want to have h2d2 looking like Dr. Who bouncing about in time warps.

Just a note though, it's h2G2 "Hitchhikers Guide To The Galaxy" not h2d2. It was Douglas Adams who made it happen

I am sure that you will be a valuable member of the community - can I suggest that you take the time to look around - it certainly has its "quirky" areas and characters - something for everyone
