I came into h2g2 because elsewhere there is conversation (Ouch thread from moderator) mentioning Rosie deleting her posts.

Here, it says it cannot be done. I'm not clever enough to open two pages at once, but seem to remember the link to here came from that very thread, as a suggestion about finding the answer to the how to delete question.

smiley - sorry

Unfortunately there is no way to delete a post if it does not contravene <./>HouseRules</.>

You can unsubscribe from the conversation which will remove it from your conversation list but that's all.

That's why it's so important not to post without thinking smiley - biggrin

You might like to look at Jack's Unwritten Rules of Posting at A8272172 - it's good advice for everyone smiley - ok

Hello, Feisor! I've been groping around, trying to find you, as I've been gagged and bound for nearly a week. smiley - cry However, by dint of buying a new laptop (!!!!!) I'm now precariously online once again. I say precariously because of Vista and so on, which I'd never intended to broach. smiley - geek
How are you? Don't s'pose you missed me.. smiley - tongueincheeksmiley - rofl

Ooops - please ignore that last post - I got confused and thought that I was replying to one of my newbies smiley - blush

Put it down to the fact that I cleaned the bathroom today smiley - yuk - and am still in shock smiley - laugh

I am, of course glad that you made it back - and more than a little envious that you have a new laptop smiley - envy but I know how many teething problems that can cause. I'm thinking about doing a partial upgrade on my "Baby" but am put off by all the hassles (and the cost) - soon maybe smiley - biggrin

Haven't you added me to your friends list? It makes it much easier to find someone.

Cleaned the bathroom?????????????? Oh dear, oh dear. Is there no reason in this life?? No wonder you're living on the edge! smiley - silly
There was a pause just then, as my Mothering Sunday bouquet came from no. 1 son. Huuuge. So I must have made an impression when I shouted smiley - biggrin
I'm making very slow progress with Vista, which isn't surprising, I suppose smiley - senior, but the LT has a vast hard drive and lots of RAM, so eventually (she murmured wistfully), we should see an improvement.

I hesitated to enrol you as a friend without being invited as 'twere. Seemed as rude as jumping into someone else's conversation. Shall do so 4thwith....

Oh my, I hope that we are friends after all this time smiley - laugh and remember - there should never be protocol and politeness between friends , so smiley - tongueout

smiley - laugh

After the bathroom my next project is the kitchen floor smiley - yuksmiley - yuk - I'm going to try to motivate myself all week - and then try to think up an excuse not to smiley - grr My middle name is "Procrastination" ....

Happy Mothering Sunday! I am sure that you deserve every leaf and bloom in that bouquet. Mother's Day here is the second Sunday in May - so I don't have to think about that for a while smiley - biggrin

Still turning green about the laptop - when I upgrade I'm going to get my current harddrives transferred to the new baby so I won't have to battle Vista. (My Grandmother used to say "If you want the easiest way to do something, ask a lazy person." - that's me.)

Look after yourself ....

Helloo again! I was muttering to Websailor that I bet you were cleaning the kitchen. Behind the fridge is the worst, I think. Don't ask why ours is now built-in!!! But other problem areas raise their ugly heads. You know those tacky kitschy mottoes that people hang on their walls? I saw a lovely one today:- 'I only have a kitchen because it came with the house'
Rather liked it.
I'm hoping it'll snow again tomorrow, so I can stay inside and do something...useful? Today was incredible. Snow when I awoke, but I needed sunglasses by mid-morning. And, no, I don't live on an Alp!!!
Hope Mum is well?
I was going to say 'goodnight' just then, but my Master called me to watch the tv. There's a programme about the moving of Egyptian temples, I think in the 1960s. Vast numbers of people, sawing a mountain into pieces by hand, and reassembling them a safe distance from the flooding Nile. Aren't people marvellous. What a strange mixture humans are.

Behind the fridge? smiley - yikes No Way! If you can't see it, it can stay that way smiley - laugh

I think I've seen that show about the temples - yes, it was an amazing feat - I think when they constructed the Aswan Dam ... but I also think that a lot of places were lost too smiley - wah

It's like the dam that they are building in China - is it the Six Gorges or something? Amazing places being lost - it makes you wonder, I understand that the benefits of the dam are not all that great and lots of peasant communities have been "relocated".

It always amazes me that humans can sometimes be so clever, co-operative and concerned but at other times can just be absolute mindless, unfeeling smiley - bleeps.

Oh well ... I suppose that's what makes us "human" smiley - sigh
