I apologise for bothering you but I keep receiving emails from the poster PAX saying that SHE keeps getting messages for ME on HER h2g2 page and doesn't know what to do. She doesn't want them but does not know how to stop getting them, and I appear to be unable to unsubscribe from h2g2 conversations either.
If you can advise I would be very grateful.
The email address I list on MY h2g2 page is only for limited contact with a few other posters about personal things, not board matters, and it is my only way of passing on my email address to people who want to contact me. I believe that it is permissable to leave email addresses on an h2g2 page as there is nothing to say it contravenes House Rules.
It is a web-based address, not my private address, therefore I do not want to have to remove it from my h2g2 page. My private address is my private address, and is not passed out to people.
Many thank and have a lovely day.
Good morning

I have looked at Pax's space and cannot see any messages specifically for you. Pax may be confused - if she has subscribed to or participated in any conversations they will appear on her conversation list.
As all of her conversations are on sites other that h2g2 I cannot assist with the procedure for unsubscribing on those sites as I am not familiar with them. Contact the Editors/Moderators for the board on which the conversations appear.
On h2g2 you can unsubscribe from a conversation by either hitting the "Click here to unsubscribe from this Conversation" at the bottom of each page or by hitting the "x" next to the conversation on your list.
You can post an email address but should be aware that this can be abused as anyone can read your page.
If the problem you are having relates to conversations on another board - you should contact them.
I am sorry that I cannot help you further.

I think too, that we have already been through all this when your nickname was Rosiella.
I think my advice was the same at the time ...

Unfortunately the problem is a bit more involved and serious than just someone being inadvertently subscribed to my conversations. It involves stalking on the h2g2 boards by someone else, and the problem is that whatever I say to you here will be noted by the person who is definitely stalking me.
I have spoken to my lawyer who confirms that it IS internet stalking, but that as it is happening on a UK messageboard there is nothing the police here can do about it. If I lived in the UK I would go to the police, but as you know I don't.

Once again - you need to take all this up with the administrators on the site where it is happening.
I only deal with h2g2 and know nothing about the other message boards.

The other boards are NOT h2g2 - they are BBC sites.

Rosie Posted Jan 22, 2007
These messages are appearing on h2g2 pages, not on any other BBC messageboard. If h2h2 does not have anything to do with the BBC, then why does it say "BBC -h2g2- Post to a Conversation" at the top of the page?

I did not say that h2g2 was not BBC - I said that the other sites are NOT h2g2 - they are all BBC sites but the message boards are separate - with separate moderators/editors.
If Pax is getting your messages on her list she is subscribed to your page - she need to press the "Click here to stop being notified of new Conversations about this Guide Entry" on your page.
I cannot see why it is a problem - you and she obviously are having problems working out how h2g2 works.
I have checked all your h2g2 converstaions and can find no evidence of "stalking" - you seem to discourage people from using the conversation forums and use your personal space only to publicise your email address. Once again I don't think you understand what h2g2 is all about.
If you feel that you are being "stalked" on h2g2 please post which converstaion and I will look at it - simply copy the address line from your browser and paste it into a message.
If the "stalking is on another message board you must take it up with the,

"I have checked all your h2g2 converstaions and can find no evidence of "stalking" - you seem to discourage people from using the conversation forums and use your personal space only to publicise your email address."
Considering the fact that I post on the conversation forums on and off (mostly on) from 9am UK time to around 10 or 11pm UK time, I'm afraid that I don't understand your above comment.
The only times other posters and I have wanted to contact each other privately was for personal reasons. No other reasons. And everyone is still posting on the conversation forums.
I have NEVER discouraged anyone from using the boards, I have, however, told a few people how to contact me (which is not publicising my email address) when someone wants to speak to me on a personal matter.
As it contravenes House Rules to publish email addresses on the messageboards, a lot of people - many many people - open Hotmail or Yahoo email addresses purely for that purpose. To be able to speak to someone in private about a personal matter.

You are misconstruing everything I write - I feel that I cannot help you.
"I post on the conversation forums on and off (mostly on) from 9am UK time to around 10 or 11pm UK time" - you post on the message boards - not on h2g2.
Your few conversations on h2g2 show no indications of stalking.
If you can indicate where someone has done so I will see what I can do - once again, if it has happened on the message boards take your complaints to them.
