Garibaldi

What _is_ a 'garibaldi', Garibaldi? I run into the word every now and again, not counting Babylon 5 references. But,as it appears to be a European thing and I'm American, I haven't a clue what it is. Judging from context, it appears to be some kind of drink. (Ref. Camp Koala from the "Tank Girl" comics, quote, "Relax mate, have a garibaldi") Any hints?

I don't know. Being and Australian I wouldn't have a clue. I just borrowed the name from Babylon 5, like I am asumming you borrowed your's from Rocky Horror Picture Show

Yeah shame about the hair.
B5 is still been shown here in Oz, albeit on and off depending on what sport or major event is happening. It was on for one week last week, this week is golf. Pity I missed the episode.
I like Garibaldi, especially when I wanted a laugh.

*laughs*
I tried to drink on the weekend and ended up being sick. :-\ I can't wait to see the spin off, but I hear that only 13 episodes were made, which has made me upset.
Anyway, glad to meet another B5 fan.

Ooh, SETI@Home, I want to do that. Just that everytime I am at home I keep forgetting to register and download the software.
I actually wanted to get into radio astrophysics, so I guess I could do SETI@Home instead

Ah, so the SETI@Home software is like the electronic thumb. God, I never thought of it like that. I will have a while stack of towels near by then. (-:
Anyway, if for some reason I disappear of the face of the planet, you'll know I found something.

Mama Mia! Santo Cielo! Garibaldi wazza the saviour of Italia in the middle of the 19th century, who united North and South. He commanded The Red Shirts. Do you know nothing???? He was so famous that they named a biscuit after him, which is thin, crunchy and full of raisins, much like Garibaldi himself. Nowa you know! Colonials - whadda you do?

Thanks jan*
Now that I know, I will be more concious of it. Thanks for pointing out the error of my ways. I just thought it was a common Italian name, and since it appeared on my favourite show, Babylon 5, I thought I would use it.

Ha, that will not be hard, and also there won't be some ancient alien artifact that will bring you back from near death either
