Merkin Posted Sep 14, 1999
Well done sir. Very pleased for you both. Any plans made?
Congratulations Doug
Doug Dastardly Posted Sep 14, 1999
Hi Merkin, thanks. At the moment, as you can imagine, everying is up in the air, but I'm sure we'll start sorting things out soon and of course, we'll make sure we keep our friends on H2G2 up to speed!
Congratulations Doug

Oh, hi, sorry I haven't been around, but congrats all the same. We always thought you'd be the first H2G2 marriage, and now you're one step closer (don't mean to scare you or nothing)
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Sep 28, 1999
If you scare him you will have me to deal with and I own a rounders bat! How did the exams go? Are you still a university student?
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Sep 30, 1999
Hey, just call me the comeback kid, yeah
Eight resits and I'm still a student. I'm not about to get cocky or anything though. I need to work this year.
In all I passed half of my subjects, but the pass marks were good enough to drag up the other half. 49% overall for my first year.
I'm well pleased
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Sep 30, 1999
I bet you are. I should think a summer of working has probably made you want to put off the fateful day you become a useful member of society as long as possible!
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 4, 1999
Working? Who do you take me for
I'm a STUDENT god-dammit.
I think I'll make a living out of it. Any vacancies for a professional student?
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Oct 4, 1999
I think you will find most universities have positions fitting that description but competition is fierce!

Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 4, 1999
Hey, it's just like the good old times. Me doing no work and distacting you from doing work too. God bless H2G2 and all who sail in her
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Oct 4, 1999
I know! I miss Doug being on here because I used to distract him from his work! It is good to see things are back to normal then! BTW I thought it was me distracting you from studying!
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 4, 1999
Let's just agree that h2g2 distracts everybody.
Where is Doug at the moment then? Did he have his internet access revoked at work, because he was being distracted too easily?
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Oct 4, 1999
No! He is just extremely busy and so h2g2 has taken low priority especially as any spare time he does have is spent emailing me!
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 6, 1999
Oh dear, so you *are* a distraction then.
Any idea when the next event will be. A christmas party perhaps
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Oct 6, 1999
Someone else has to take over that now but I believe Peta may be doing it!
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 7, 1999
What's the matter? Pressure got too much from the previous event?
Congratulations Doug
Ginger The Feisty Posted Oct 7, 1999
I believe I was on the winning team! But no the pressure from that event wasn't too much but I am orgainising an event of my own now, don't forget. Also when I originally organised it there was no community editor to do it for us!
Congratulations Doug
Jim the Wonder Llama (back from yonder) Posted Oct 14, 1999
There were no winners in that game. (I'm resolutely believing that because I wasn't on the winning team, and I got caught marvellously way, way in the outfield )
So, is it the Community Eds responsibility to organise events, or just attract information to them?
And have you set a date yet, or is it still too early?
Congratulations Doug
