Hot. Bored. Monday.

Still, I've got this Friday off. Woohoo!

Monday 12th July

Today I am writing a document about the car of the future which gives me an excuse to make all kinds of references to Knight Rider, which in turn gives me an excuse to "research" the topic by visiting laughable Knight Rider tribute sites and, well, laugh.

Quiet weekend definitely not enhanced by a visit to the cinema to see The Matrix. I seem to be alone in thinking that the entire film was risible and derivative crap, although I have to say that Laurence Fishburne looked very nice when he wasn't wearing his ill-fitting sunglasses. Other lowlights of the weekend included a) having no money, b) having to clean the flat and c) avoiding the sunshine at all costs. Great!

Wednesday July 7th

The sun is shining (er, actually no it isn't) and I am in a better mood than usual. I am re-reading Primrose Hill by Helen Falconer, what a great book.

Tomorrow we are pitching for a new client which, if we get it, will be the first British company I'll have worked for in all my 3 years in PR. Hurrah and three cheers for the British IT renaissance! (or something).

Other than this I am planning my outfit for a South Sea Pirate party I am going to next weekend. I am going to go dressed as an allegory of the sea. Tonight I have a hot date in Freuds (see user entry below) so things are generally OK.

Tuesday 6th July

Noticed that although the two dead stations I go through on the Piccadilly Line are bricked up and therefore of limited interest (though the lights are sometimes on), the old British Museum station on the Central Line is still open, although dark, so you can only vaguely make it out.

Am still hatching a plot to escape this terrible job. This has progressed to doing my CV.

No one in my department has been able to answer my question (see below) about what the next decade is called.

So, another question - who out there is stocking up on food, generators, weapons etc for the Millennium Anticlimax?
