Hello! What part of America do you live in?

Just curious. I'm from the midwestsmiley - smiley. I can't stand the way the government is going, eithersmiley - sadface. Even worse, I'm stuck in a mostly republican corner of the country where Bush is God and I'm an idiot because I don't trust him and I don't believe in the war he's wrongfully dragged us intosmiley - grr. I'm sorry, I just refuse to love or respect anyone who is willing to use his people's worst fears against them in order to get what he wantssmiley - cross.

Anyway...
So you're a recovered drug addict? Well, Kudos to you! I can't say I know how you feel, because I don't, but I do know that recovering and staying recovered is quite a heroic feat! Bravo.smiley - applause

Hello there. I live in rural Pennsylvania where there is a mix of Pro-Bush Anti-Bush. I feel bad for you having to live around ppl like that, because the hard core conservatives take a narrow view of the world and anyone that disagrees with them is a traitor. Some of the stuff that's in my description is just me being sarcastic or goofy because I didn't really think anyone read those things anyhow. Having said that, I AM a recovering heroin addict and I thank you for your kind words. Having gone through that, I have strong opinions concerning the drug policies in this country. Drug addicts shouldn't be treated like criminals. The jails are overfull because roughly 75% of the population are drug offenders! I think the non-violent drug offenders should be put in treatment or do community service or something other than going to jail. That way there'll be room enough in the jails for the ppl who really belong there, the violent criminals i.e. rapists, murderers, robbers, etc.

I apologize for the mini-rant, but for some reason I had to get that out. What are your views on the way the Bush admin. is handling global warming?

That map is cool. I put my 2 cents in. It was able to zoom right in and I could actually see landmarks such as the golf course. Neat.

You mean NOT handling global warming. Can you believe he still wants to drill for oil in Alaska???smiley - grr!!

We need to explore different fuel sources that create less pollution and are renewable, such as ethanol.

Then, maybe Bush won't have to conquer small countries to feed our ever growing dependency on oil.

Yes that makes me angry too. A fellow from Canada told me he read that the Bush administration has an "It's all going to shit anyway so we might as well get what we can while we can" attitude, and that's a pretty accurate assessment. I also read that nuclear fusion is now a viable energy source, that it can be harnessed in a box the size of a PC and that'd be enough energy to power a large plant. The only problem is they need helium 3 to make it work. The moon has an abundance of helium 3, so supposedly that's why we are in a "race" with other countries to get back to the moon and lay claim to that good stuff. Keep in mind, this isn't verified or anything, but if it's true it'd be great because it's a very safe energy source from what I understand. If you keep an open mind, you ought to check out unknowncountry.com for info like this and on the coming climate changes.

Have you seen the news!?smiley - yikessmiley - headhurts!

Both of the poles and the greenland ice-sheet are melting at an incredable speed!
If they both melt completely, the oceans' water levels will rise 200 feet!smiley - wah

Rumor has it England will be virtually uninhabitable w/in 5-10 years because of what you said. The gulf stream will change and England will rapidly enter a deep freeze.
If you check that website I think I told you about (wnknowncountry.com) they keep pretty good tabs on the latest news concerning global warming and the coming "superstorm."
And the Bush administration has taken on a "well its all gonna go to hell anyways, let's get what we can while it lasts."
Shameful!
