3/5/99 Blink and baby brothers

Bank holidays, especially bank holidays during nice weather always
seem to come when there is work to do. In this case it is a
forecasting and control assignment which requires me to use a computer
program I will not understand if I spend the rest of my life working
on it. Still there are always good things to come out of any day, for
me today this includes going to a birthday party and being given the
chance to work on Blink, a new comedy programme for the radio station
here at the university of Warwick. I have never tried to write comedy
and am a little reticent to get started. However I feel there is a
way around this in starting out as an ideas man and progressing from
there. I have not shown my ideas to the team yet, but I am fairly
thick skinned and will be fine if they are not liked.

One final thing worth mentioning from yesterday is that I was able to
talk to one of my brothers on the phone. I have one sister and two
half brothers. The brothers are 2 years and 6 months old respectively
and I would have to call them the most important thing in my life.
Callum, the elder of the two has always regarded the phone as a toy
but he was quite happy to speak to me down it. This is great for a 20
year old big brother who spends way too little time with them.
