As copied from http://www.h2g2.com/A350560 :
It is said that "nothing can last forever", meaning that there is no "forever". If forever doesn't exist, then neither can infinity or eternity, because these are all, basically, the same thing.
Anyway, infinity is impossible to imagine. Is this because the human mind is just not complex enough to handle the idea or because infinity just doesn't exist?
I am going to use this latter reason to try to explain why I believe that nothing is real.
The Universe is believed to be infinitely huge. It is believed to have existed from the dawn of time. If the Universe was not the first thing to be created, then there must have been something there before it - there couldn't just have been *nothing*. But what about before that thing? It is an endless spiral.
The same goes for after the Universe ends - remember, nothing lasts forever.
Following these statements, the Universe can not possibly exist because it has lasted forever,or at least there have been things since forever and until forever.
And if the Universe doesn't exist, neither can anything within it. The Sun, the Moon, the Earth; you, me, and everyone else on the planet; the animals that roam free in the jungles and fly through the air, every creature under the ocean, and the pets that we keep; THEY ARE NOT THERE.
Everything you sense is just a figment of your imagination.
Including you.

Look I did not go through 3 years of university to gain a degree only for someone to tell me that I do not exist.

I can safely say that I don't believe that philosophy anymore, which is a good thing, considering how corrupt it would have made my mind
BTW - if you put "?latest=1" (without the "s) at the end of the forum address, then you get the latest posts. You might already know this but hey

Jostein Gaarder. Norwegian bloke. I've just started Sophoe's World but it's more of a lesson than a book, but The Solitaire Mystery rocked. Read it
