h2g2 The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy: Earth Edition

  When I signed on to this intriguing little book I little realized that I would be swept into a grand adventure, a phantasmagoria of excitement and so on. Well, perhaps I did realize that but I wasn't ready to believe it.
I am an artist and writer who has been condemmed to too many years living among the "middle-class," which is the polite term for the...well, I won't use that sort of language here. My life is too limited, not only by the bounds of gravity (weren't we supposed to have charter flights to the Moon by now? Why can't reality keep up with science fiction?) but by my own ebullient imagination. I look at the world, still steeped in prejudice and strife, and wonder if I wouldn't be happier as a Vogon. Oh well. I shall make the best of what I have, and strive to make the most of what I can get.
