You're reminding me that I've still got to finish part III of this set of Entries. So many jobs, so little time!!

I've got as far as "Parratt's memory skills were also applied to the chess board, a game to which he applied himself rigorously." would you like me to replace one of those "applied" with another word? Or can you rephrase?

"Parratt's memory skills were also of use on the chess board..."
or something else if you prefer

I've finished subbing it now. Was I slow enough for you to catch up? Anyway, I didn't change much but if you're happy I'll return it to... us.

Part III progresses so slowly. I hardly seem to get any time on it at all at the moment...too many kettles on the boil...and now the talk I'm giving on Kathleen Ferrier on the 25th is looming fast. Spent most of this afternoon on it.
Return this part, but keep it on the back burner with part I. I *will* get part III finished eventually,but it'll no sooner be finished than it'll need updating - the tenure of the current Master expires in 2014!

The final paragraph of this Entry will have to be revised following today's announcement that Steve Martland has died

>>Arriving at the Albert Hall<< ---> I've stuck a "Royal" in there...

>>...as the Queen and Prince Philip were driven in a open-topped car from Liverpool's Catholic Cathedral to the Anglican Cathedral. The symphony was scheduled for a special Jubilee concert, to be attended by their Majesties, at the Royal Festival Hall in November, but Williamson delivered only three of the four expected movements, and these very late in the day. <<
"to be attended by their Majesties" is wrong, no-one calls Prince Philip "Your Majesty", only the Queen is called this. I've deleted that part.

I've put (Williamson's) Sixth Symphony and Piano Concerto No.4 into italics tags, I hope that's correct?

and a BBC Proms commission, A Year of Birds (1995), a cantata for soprano and orchestra, setting 12 poems by Iris Murdoch.
should that be: "setting 12 poems by Iris Murdoch to music."?
