I've given you Horatio Hornblower to sub-edit.

Thanks Gnomon.
A sub-ed question: I've noticed in a number of Entries recently that the footnote tag has been . I suspect these come from editing in Pliny as opposed to Ripley. Should the INDEX="x" be taken out or left in? The problem I see with leaving it in is that if in a future update, a new footnote is added in the middle of the text, it will be out of sequence in the footnotes unless the editor advances the index number of subsequent footnotes.

Just ignore them. Although Pliny puts these indexes into the footnotes, it doesn't use them, as you can see from this example:

I've got you down as having 6 Entries that you are sub-editing at the moment:
A85981161 The Naval and Coastal Defences of Roman Britain
A87772855 Poppy Seed Tarts
A87773962 Chicken Noodle Soup
A87773980 Onion and Popy Seed Bread
A87774114 Ham and Yam Chilli
A87773971 Banana and Walnut Bread
Of these, only the 'Ham and Yam Chilli' is shown on Trello as Allocated to a Sub and 'The Naval and Coastal Defences of Roman Britain' appears not to have a Trello card at all. The others are shown as Waiting for a Sub
Could you confirm that you have all six and that they are in progress?

I have all those, and yes, they are in progress. I also have a Bluebottle project on a National Cycle Route, which doesn't appear in ComingUp but should be there in the Trello.
The Food Entries
I think the five food entries were part of a Create Challenge. As a result, they are more personalised than most entries, with things like "I invented this recipe... I find that it is easier to add sugar at this stage" and so on. I think this is OK in the context.
It won't take me long to complete the sub-editing of them - probably get them done over the weekend.
I don't know what it was intended to do with the Create Challenge entries - publish a few a week, or all together?
The Naval and Coastal Defences of Roman Britain
This is an entry written by BobStafford. It was originally called "The Classis Britannica" and may still be called that in Trello. It's a difficult edit but I hope to finish it eventually. If anyone else wants to take it on, they're welcome.
Bluebottle's National Cycle Route project
I will get this finished soon, but I think other authors should get a chance to have their work published, and not just Bluebottle.

I've completed and returned these entries:
A87772855 Poppy Seed Tarts
A87773962 Chicken Noodle Soup
A87773980 Onion and Popy Seed Bread
A87774114 Ham and Yam Chilli
A87773971 Banana and Walnut Bread
As they were part of a Create Challenge, they have a number of personal references in them (eg this recipe was given to me by my mother-in-law). Because this is not normal Guide Style, I added a line to the start of each, in italics, says "This recipe was supplied by Researcher xxx:" and a link to the author.
I realise now that I had already sub-edited a couple of other food entries (Les Treize is one) which may have been for this challenge. You might like to add a similar line to them.

I see that "Les Treize" has been published. The date on it should be updated so that it appears in the correct place on the list of recently published entries.

Ah thanks Gnomon That step got missed in publishing the FP. I've done it now for both this week's featured entries.

Could I interest you in taking Bluebottle's FM rescue 'Quintus Sertorius' to sub-edit? It's quite detailed and probably needs some careful checking.

Yes, I'll take that.
I haven't been doing much recently, as I've been in an odd mood since the death of my father. Now that spring is here, I should have a bit more energy, and I'll tackle that one, as well as attempting to finish the National Cycle Route project.

Thanks, I've allocated that one to you. Your feelings after the loss of your father are quite understandable. I'm not sure I'd agree that spring is here yet though, certainly not round my locale

I've returned the Quintus Sertorius entry.

Thanks Gnomon Would you like something else to replace it? Are there any in the 'Awaiting a Sub' list on Trello that particularly take your fancy?

I'm still working on National Cycling Route 23, but you could give me "Walls" if you like, as I did such a detailed scan of it in Peer Review that there should be very little left to do.

Sold to the man with the pile of bricks I've started making use of the Due Date facility on Trello, but set to a month as a backstop.

A87780397 'Queen of the Wight - Isabella de Fortibus'
A87784591 'A bread junkies quick fix; making pitta bread'
A87783664 'First Songs: From Assyria to Sirius'

Hi. I was looking through the Entry A87784573 'Zen and the Art of Keeping Socks Paired' that you returned from subbing, and I noticed that in the Rules of Balanced Sock Stewardship section, the 6 items in the first numbered list have full-stops at the end, while the 3 in the second list don't. I was wondering which was correct?

For long convoluted list items, it is usual to put full stops at the end - particularly if they involve more than one sentence, although they don't in this case. I thought full stops were appropriate in this list.
For lists of very short items, it can go either way. Full stops can make the list look a bit fussy. But given the fact that this second list is right beside the first one, it does look odd, so full stops would probably be more appropriate here.
