Employment

Well, the long arm of the jobs market has finally embraced me, after many odd places (Glasgow city council, A sewage Works in Dalmarnock) I'm finally and for teh moment working for an engineering comapny alligned with railtrack (Currently in administration) so, money but no time. Odd teh way that works out, when you're unemployed, you ahve too much time, not enough money, when you're employed, you have more money, less time. Just a thought

Unemployment

I have been unemployed for some thime now, in quite an annoying way. See, I have a general degree in Psychology, sadly this means (and I have been told this) that I am fairly hard to employ, why, well, my degree isn't good enough for companies who require an honours degree, fair enough, this is where it gets annoying. Companies, rather than saying, "Wow, this guy's stuck through three years of uni and has qualifications" tehy say, "Thsi guy may have prospects, for our work we need people with no prospects" Why is this, because people with no degree don't have (supposedly) many options. This means that they are likely to stay in the job after two years and so paying for training is worthwhile. Whilst I, with my degree, After two years may try to get a better job, wasting tehir training money. Its annoying and stupid.

Why Humanity sucks

Just a rant. This'll teach me to watch the discovery channel. Anyway, I saw a doccumentary about the development of rescue techniques at sea and something struck me. For nearly every great sea accident, the technology was available to lessen the loss of life, and just wasn't instigate for that old cost factor. Specific example that annoyed me was the Piper Alpha oil platform. Covered, fast launching and self righting lifeboats (Specifdically designed for oil rigs) were available at the time, but were conisdered too expensive for installation. Only after the platform exploded did teh companys install them. This is a constant trend and in my mind, is one reason why humanity sucks.
