Linlithgow Loch

Post 1

^Happy_Cat^

I eagerly clicked the link to this entry, thinking someone else from Linlithgow had submitted something.

What a disappointment. Nothing there - it was empty. Linlithgow Loch is currently very full at the moment as well. I can vouch for that having walked along side it yesterday.

It is full of interesting things like, um, water and ducks and swans and islands and fish and fishing boats and pieces of bread.

On the lochside there is the ruined Linlithgow Palace, the birthplace of Mary Queen of Scots. The Palace, Loch and grounds (known as The Peel) attract a great many tourists each year. Albeit, Americans and Japanese visitors.

It is worth a visit.

Back to the loch and the swans. Just to tie this passage up neatly. In days of yore they would serve 'swan' in the Palace as part of their banquet.

So there you are. Wonder why that practise stopped? Does anyone know?

Dear Happy Cat,
It was I who posted this subject and yes I too live in Linlithgow. I unfortunately have not kept the site up to date due to unforseen circumstances. However I am glad that you were able to make a contribution in my absence and thank you for that. I will be doing some work on the site in the next two weeks, should you care to drop in. I put the subject up for all to enjoy. Hope that answers your question on the blank message.
Take care.
Adz
