racial march

a few days ago, there was a march at my school in order to force
the administration to concentrate more effort on promoting racial
diversity i.e. bringing more minority students into the college.
i guess it's just me....but the ones that are here already seem to do
terribly in their classes, suggesting that the only reason they got
into the shool is due to their skin color. i don't understand why they
would want to do this to themselves....basically, they are asking the
administration to lower their standards for minority students. do the
minority students already enrolled want this to happen? this means
their "people" will be sponging even more off of intelligent, hard-
working students. plus, they would be forcing their school to have
lower overall standards. it seems to me that they would want to push
themselves even harder than ever, for the sake of productivity, which
brings so many rewards with it.
