CAN YOU GIVE ME ANT ADVICE ON THE PROPAGATION OF THE AFORE MENTIONED TREE, AND WOULD YOU CLASS THIS AS A GOOD TREE FOR BONSAI.

Alder can be grown from seed sown in the fall and allowed a cold period (3 months or so). You may have some luck with summer cuttings. You can improve your chances of getting cuttings to root by immersing them in water in which willow twigs have been soaking. I'm not an authority on Bonsai; but I would say that Alder are probably not a prime choice, due to their relatively fast growth rate and natural preference for wet sites.
