Hiding? I'm not hiding!

There's a lot more e-mail to deal with than I'm accustomed to. But the actual work load is only as heavy as you want it to be. I receive batches of ten by e-mail. When they're done, I send them off and get another batch.
Most are pretty straight forward. But some... remember what happened to Mr. Spock, whenever he had to mind-meld with a lunatic?

Blimey, is it that bad! Roughly out of each 10 you get, how many can you discard immediately for being just so way out or where people just didn't get the point at all! Have you found the quality of articles improving?
How did you weekend go!? We had loads of rain here, and Ginger had the nightmare of travelling back last night in it all... still baking in all that sunshine? People here are starting to panic as it looks like it might be too cloudy for people to see the eclipse!

Looking over the last three batches, perhaps 3 or 4 are passed on to Mark for his approval. I don't know if this reflects a trend. I have the feeling that I might be a little too soft.
The weather here has been lovely for the past week or so. The awful humidity has gone; and the temperature has been a little more moderate (highs of about 26C). I'll keep my fingers crossed for you when you are in Florence.
Congratulations on a fine job with the Cartoon/Stop-motion-animation pages. I think that's a terrific idea. The response you've been getting bears that out.

Sorry to butt in. Where abouts in Canada are you John? We have been looking up some places because we are thinking of next year's holiday and we would like to do a lakeside cabin thingy. New England is just so passee () so we thought we'd look at Canada. That's how we discovered the Lynne River and the Douglas hospital (co-incidence or what). Are there any areas we should aim for or avoid and what would be the best time of year if we want to be able to go swimming?

Well that OK, I suppose. I must admit I haven't done much myself this afternoon!!
This weather doesn't help, it hardly inspires great feats of working does it?

Neither does the company I work for! I just found out my boss sent a note out to a circulation list for which I was not part of, requesting that I book a meeting room for tomorrow morning - OOOOOh! He drives me nuts!

Does he not want you there? Who do you work for? Is it just him or are the company bad all through??

They want me there but have no idea about actually training me, and it is a company cultlre - they don't believe in managing - so I'm trying to get out.

Hi Ginger,
I live in Brantford (http://www.brantford.on.ca/), which is in the middle of South Western Ontario (roughly); on a line between London and Hamilton (http://www.h2g2.com/P137594).
I've not been to western Canada, so I can't really speak for them; but there are some great "By the lake cabin hols. to be had in Ontario. When people here say "the north" or, more often, "up north", they usually mean the part that would seem to be the middle to anyone looking at a map.
The great Lakes are huge... monstrous. For a backwoodsy cottage holiday on a secluded lake sort of thing, I would look for something in the Muskoka/Parrysound region (http://www.onlc.net/index.html or http://www.muskoka.com:80/tourism/)). The Lake Rosseau area is very nice. We used to go there a lot.
I would recommend September, or even October (although it might be getting a bit chilly by then), as the best time to come. It won't be too hot the, but the lakes will still be warm enough to swim in ( and you won't be plagued with bugs).
The Muskoka/Parrysound area has the advantage of being fairly close to Toronto and the charms of the big city, if you get tired of the "wilderness". In fact, there a lot of attractions you could pull in on a day trip.

I think we're about ready to submit the two pages as they are. The initial interest has died off a bit now, so hopefully getting them accepted as official guide entries will give them a second wind.
Thanks for the good wishes regarding Florence, I'm sure it's going to be rather special no matter what the weather's like. Should be quite a contrast to my last holiday (Orlando! Which wasn't really my cup of tea!).
As for the weather - it's been really bad - just ask Ginger, she had to drive home on Sunday with the rain going sideways!

I don't think I will ever forget that trip - I have never had to drive at 30 mph on a motorway except through traffic jams but you just couldn't see in front of you!
I finished surfing Canada btw and still like http://www.cottagelink.com/cottlink/ontario/on6/on60018.html
Near to Niagara and everything!
