Hey J-T-G! I was all set to congratulate you on the new guide entry, when I realized you are listed as the editor instead of the writer. I thought of several possibilites:
-you wrote the article, but the Powers That Be messed up
-you are one of the Powers That Be, working undercover as one of us
-you have been promoted
-something else happened, and I missed it
Well, congrats on whatever happened.....
I hope this doesn't lead to another protest....

Mmm...avoiding the question, I see. You can tell me, I won't say....Ok, I'll shout it from the mountains, but tell me anyway!

Yeah! I got a reply to this question from Mark Moxon as follows:
"You might say that. I couldn't possibly comment...
Seriously, though, I'm experimenting with scaleable solutions to the problem of sub-editing. No prizes for guessing what, but for the moment I'm trialling ideas. Nothing more, for the moment."
What is it with these people that they can't just be upfront and let you know what is going on? Especially when we know what is going on but are just asking for official confirmation.
I hope this doesn't lead to another protest....

Congratulations seem to be in order, well done over there.

Thanks for the congrats.
If I seem to be less than forthcoming, it's either because I don't know, or I've been asked not to say. Sorry. I'm not trying to be devious.

We aren't taking a pop at you John! It's just frustrating to not get straight answers from the Powers-That-Be-Ignoring-Us! We shouldn't really be sticking you in the middle!

That's true JTG, we know that you wouldn't say if told not too. I was just kidding about the protest. I presume the editors will get around to this issue eventually. If not, perhaps we are better not knowing.....
I hope this doesn't lead to another protest....

And now that I think about it, if you have become an editor (or always have been), I had better start treating you with some respect!
Seriously, anything that speeds up the review process without hurting the quality of entries is a good thing. Keep it up!

I hope that the new title won't mean you neglecting your patch of God's good earth?
